Kitchen help!

We’re having a new kitchen installed soon and after looking about online and in brochures I’m felling rather overwhelmed with all the appliances and extras we can have.
So if you could recommend one thing for a new kitchen what would it be? Any tips or tricks you could share too?
TIA

A second sink not close to the first - so if one person is preparing veg, say, the other can still fill a kettle. We did an analysis of all the things we did in the kitchen, and the sink was the biggest conflict zone.

The other thing, which I feel grateful for every day, is that everything that comes out of the dishwasher can be put away without having to step away from the dishwasher.

I hadn’t considered and boiling tap, although they seem expensive for what they are so might have to have a proper look into them.
A waste disposal unit is definitely on the list as is a water softener system (we live in a very hard water area and the line scale drives me potty!)
Are the bin drawers rather small? There’s 5 of us and a dog in the house and my only reservation about them is constantly changing the bins because they’re so tiny.

DrIris that lighting set up sounds perfect, thank you for the tip
HotSeat I think you’ve probably got the right idea tbh 👌🏻

We’ve had a water softener system for years and it has really cut down on cleaning. No more limescale and the soft water, apart from being a real luxury means you use less products for cleaning, bathing etc. Also have a water filter system. It is amazing how black the filters are when replaced 6 monthly.
I personally could not justify the cost of a boiling water tap but agree people differ in their opinions.
I echo the self cleaning ovens and clever storage cupboards. You can never have enough kitchen storage units.
I would suggest a big fridge, not necessarily the American ones with ice cubes and cold water plumbed in but one that has the maximum amount of space you can manage.
We cook a lot but I have never needed all four rings at once on a hob, let alone six. We cook a lot of veg in the microwave. A combination microwave/oven/grill is a must have in our kitchen. Ours is a Panasonic and cost less than £200.
A good extractor fan, vented to outside best.
Yes, dishwasher next to crockery cupboards, and a double sink or one with a small sink between sink and draining board. Decide which side of sink you want the draining board so that if you wash a few things by hand you can easily get to where they are stored without someone else getting in the way.

Hob with plate warmer, I don't have one anymore and I really miss it. Also agree with pan drawers.

1 1/2 bowl sink so you can drain even with washing up.
Pan Drawers
5 burner hob if you can
Microwave/convection/grill as well as other oven
Loads of sockets
Space for bin/s
Good lighting
Siemens appliances
