How do you eat Weetabix?

I like to eat 2 Weetabix with warm milk which has been heated in the microwave. I wait until it's soggy so it's a porridge like consistency. I don't add anything else.

I've always eaten it like this, couldn't eat it any other way.

Is this odd? How do you eat yours?

I either put on milk and let it go soggy then have it cold, or pour on milk and then heat in microwave so it's soggy and hot. Either way it can't be crunchy. Love it with chopped banana and - if I'm feeling indulgent - raisins too!

Still a bit crunchy with ice cold milk (and with a spoon). Food of the gods!

Same as you actually, although I do put a little sprinkle of sugar on .

Lots of milk and a heaped tablespoon of sugar.

2 Weetabix, cold milk, eat as quickly as possible so it doesn't go soggy. If time, chop a banana on top before adding milk.

No warm milk, definitely no sugar, no honey, no microwave, nothing else.

DH would put cocopops on top then milk then microwave so he ends up with chocolate porridge.

Cold and crunchy in the summer, hot and soggy in the winter

I fancy trying weetabix but don’t like milk, would it work with yoghurt?

Report

Davidbowiestrousers · 28/11/2019 08:29

With a yoghurt on it or butter

I make it for DS with microwaved hot milk, then chopped bananas/blueberries and honey on top. I cant eat it, goes mushy too quickly for me. Can't beat a crisp bowl of cornflakes with ice cold milk!

Oh I have mine with cold milk and a bit of sugar. Anyone else noticed they don’t taste the same anymore?

@Davidbowiestrousers with butter on?! Like weetabix toast?

With boiling water, then stir it up so it's a bowl of wheaty mush. People tend to think it sounds disgusting but it's really delicious!

Jeezoh, seriously, if you don't like milk, try it with boiling water. Sounds all kinds of wrong but it's properly tasty.

Toasted with butter or jam. But you need a drink to sip at the same time because it’s a bit dry.

I eat it disgracefully, my husband can't stand how it eat it!

Hot milk poured over in stages to only JUST ensure no crunchy bits are left, should be a mush but equally not mushy enough so that I am still able to turn the bowl upside down and it stays exactly where it is, a bit like ganache I suppose!

Half a tea spoon of brown sugar and that's all.

I either eat it on its own or with fruit added. I pour cold milk on it and either eat it cold or heat it in the microwave. But it always has to go soggy before I eat it! I hate it crunchy. I'm the same with muesli!

Quickly before it goes mushy, bleurgh.

HOT? What? Ok I'm trying that tomorrow. Usually I have it with loads of cold almond milk, dollop of jam, dollop of peanut butter.

In summer I have them cold with sliced banana on top. In winter I pour milk over, put in the microwave for 2 minutes so it’s hot and mushy, stir it up and sprinkle a bit of sugar over the top. I’ve had them hot this morning, I love weetabix and have it for breakfast most days.
