To find Naga Munchetty ridiculously irritating

Every single time I turn on BBC Breakfast she says something that makes me say "shut up you idiot" out loud.

Today:
They're talking about reusable bags/bags for life and increasing the price of them.

They're interviewing a lady from Greenpeace and Naga's argument is "well it would make things easier if they just put signs up saying 'don't forget your bags' at the supermarket."
Every supermarket I've been to in the last 2 years has these signs.

I know it's a really minor one today but I find her incredible irritating and I've been up with the baby since 4am after she woke at 11pm, 2:30am and 3:30am even though she normally sleeps all the way through so I'm extra tetchy Grin

I like her. Naga and the football bloke who’s babe I always forget are my favourite BBC breakfast presenter combo. They’re both quite funny and she’s sharp.

HowToBeAWoman · 28/11/2019 08:21

name

Aderyn19 · 28/11/2019 08:22

She seems fine to me. Far superior to the massively irritating Lorraine Kelly on ITV. Now there's a woman I can't stand to watch without wanting to throw something at the telly!

Actionhasmagic · 28/11/2019 08:23

Just change the channel then

GiveHerHellFromUs · 28/11/2019 08:26

@Actionhasmagic i did. Peppa Pig is on now Hmm it's just on in the background and I'll stop and listen to a snippet every now and then.

I do like an early morning news catch up though and the alternative is Piers

@HoneysuckIejasmine she is one of the better ones for not taking politicians bullshit, but she talks over guests a lot, even those unrelated to anything controversial (like the Greenpeace lady)

I actually quite like her but can totally understand where you are coming from in finding her irritating. She does seem to have a bit of a sarcastic streak at times! I don't mind that as I'm a bit that way myself but it can be annoying I know, so do try to rein it in. Victoria Derby (mentioned by PP, forget who sorry), I just cannot stand. She's just rude

Catmint · 28/11/2019 08:28

My husband loves her! And I like her, too. She strikes a good balance between serious and silly, which is just what breakfast TV should be.

Puppytooth · 28/11/2019 08:28

Agree with Shimy - she is definitely waspish but I find it really refreshing as nothing is more irritating than the smiley vacuous presenters.

Lalallama · 28/11/2019 08:29

I love Naga, so calm and confident.

For some reason I have an irrational dislike of Sally Nugent, the sports presenter. But I think it's because she reminds me of Pauline from Mum.

Can't stand Dan Walker but i think that's normal.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 28/11/2019 08:32

I find Naga snappy, rude and irritating and not a fan of Charlie either. I like Dan and Louise and am irritated by Sally. I’m obviously over invested too.

Anything is better than Piers Morgan though.

GiveHerHellFromUs · 28/11/2019 08:35

@Lalallama I don't like Sally either (see this is why I had to point out I like Charlie and Louise because I'm not just a miserable cow I swear Grin).

I think it might be because she always looks really uncomfortable.

Her and Dan always flirt too and it makes me cringe.

I find her rude and irritating as well. Glad I'm not the only one. I'm glad when I tune in and she not working on Breakfast that day, much more pleasant.

Puppytooth · 28/11/2019 08:36

Lalallama - I have always had this too. Pauline from Mum and Margot Leadbetter! Completely unfair on her but can’t help it!

georgialondon · 28/11/2019 08:37

I like her

Ohyesiam · 28/11/2019 08:39

I don’t know who they are, but I love their name.

ironickname · 28/11/2019 08:42

No! She is wonderful, tongue in cheek and I would love to be BFF.

BeyondMyWits · 28/11/2019 08:43

I just shouted at the telly too
"for fuck's sake just shut up and get on with it" They witter on about nothing at all, all faux chummy. I want a news catch up, so have started with the rolling news on BBCNews instead.

Naga just got names wrong again! Drives me potty. As does the thing they are doing now - one sentence from her, guest talks, one sentence from him, guest talks - like they can't have a whole conversation.

BertrandRussell · 28/11/2019 08:45

Bloody woman- being all intelligent and snippy and challenging and not just smiling all the time......

bodgeitandscarper · 28/11/2019 08:48

She irritates me, particularly when she tries to be funny and humiliates other presenters; it just comes across as immature and she sometimes makes the news seem like the Maga Munchetty show.

I do quite like Sally Nugent though.

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 28/11/2019 08:49

There are random signs in my supermarket car park but it's easy to miss them
I need reminding about everything. I have an 'Alarm' note by the door to remind me to set the house alarm and post it's on my dashboard saying 'Bags' and 'Glasses' as I forget both. I have lost count of the times I've started pulling out of the driveway and forgotten I can't see Blush

TheMidasTouch · 28/11/2019 08:51

I'm not keen on how Naga treats Charlie. She always finds a way of trying to put him down but keeps the smile on her face whilst doing so. I think she's like the silent assassin. Grin

Whenever Charlie has been on with Louise, the relationship between presenters is much better. I think Naga wants to stand out and be noticed and doesn't really want to be part of a co-presenting team.

I really like all of them but I do feel, after a while, some change. Dan and Naga have both become a bit arrogant and I think Naga's problem is her over-competitiveness.

Worlds0kayestmum · 28/11/2019 08:53

I find her really snarky and eye rolly. Not a fan of Charlie or Sally either. Love Louise and Carol and don't find Dan too irritating.

Trewser · 28/11/2019 08:54

I have to say i used to love her but I think she's been a bit more "characterful" in recent weeks. I don't like breakfast tv as a rule but dh does, and even he said this morning "oh stop the chat" (not particularly to Naga just the general over excited chatty bollocks between the two of them).

RebootYourEngine · 28/11/2019 08:55

I never used to give her much thought as don't watch BBC breakfast however it was on the other day and she was interviewing Martin and Shirlie Kemp. Naga called their son Ronan instead of Roman and Shirlie corrected her. Naga didn't seem impressed at that.
