Lumps on back of 18 month old's head

Please forgive me for posting in AIBU but I'm trying not to freak out here.

I was playing with DD 18 months this evening and felt four pea-sized lumps on the back of her head. They don't really move and they seem painless.

She's absolutely fine. Eating well, laughing/playing as usual. She has a cold and was a bit moody today, but nothing extreme.

Has anyone has experience of this before? Or should I be booking a GP appointment?

Some advice would be greatly appreciated

See a GP to check it out.

I’d get it checked but more than likely glands raised from cold.

I agree, maybe the glands. Are they symmetrical , either side at the base of the head where the neck joins?

@crimsonlake yes. She's fast asleep now and they feel hard.

I don't know what to do. I'm in such a panic. DH thinks I'm worrying about nothing

My husband had these from infant hood and does till this day,now all over his scalp, hair grows on them and no pain or anything. They are subcutaneous cysts ,totally harmless and benign.please see a dr to rest your mind.xx

If she has a cold they are almost certainty lymph nodes OP. DD has the same thing when she was ill. (I work with lymphoma Drs and they put my mind at rest)

I was at GPs with DD getting this checked a few weeks ago. More than likely just glands but get it checked to be sure. Try and not panic😀

If they're pea size and not growing then you probably have nothing to worry about. If in 2 weeks they're still easy to feel, pop to GP but I bet they'll be gone by then.

I'm trying not to panic, thank you everyone.

She has had a red cheek for a couple of weeks. I thought it was weather-related but now I'm starting to come to silly conclusions.

It might be slap cheek. Could this be a virus that's causing the swollen glands?

I'm sorry for asking. I just don't know what I should be doing right now!

Really sound like raised occipital glands from an infection. But this
won't reassure you. See Gp.

Just like the above poster has said several times 😂 they are more than likely glands. I remember my dd having them as a toddler and panicking the same. The GP told me it was normal. I bet they will disappear once the cold does.

All three of mine have this.
It was lymph nodes for us.

Thank you everyone, again.

She's got a cold this morning, but is ok. I've felt the glands again and they're like little peas that can move around.

Normal temperature. Just a little runny nose.

I think if she gets a temperature then I'll call 111. I work FT so it's another worry that I'm not with her, but nursery will call if she gets a temperature and I'll have to collect her.

I've barely slept Grin definitely FTM here
