The following quiz will let you know which party most aligns with your beliefs.
uk.isidewith.com/political-quiz
I was pretty close between 3 parties as my highest so figure voting for any of those is fairly representative of my views.
Also I suggest not getting too worried about Corbyn or Johnson, the leaders keep resigning and then other party members become prime minister without being voted for. So they might not stick around regardless, I'd think about the party rather than the leaders

Labour, then Green, then Lib Dem, then Brexit, then Tory, then UKIP.

SilverySurfer · 25/11/2019 11:04

Tory and I vote Tory - no shock there.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 25/11/2019 11:08

Why are Tories the only ones with a nickname?

You can say, "I'm Tory' but the other parties you just have to say, "I'm Blah Blah."

Suppose UKIP are often called Kippers, but there's no other cute names.

Treaclepie19 · 25/11/2019 11:21

I did this a few days ago. I'm Green/Labour joint and then Lib Dem. No surprise there.

missyB1 · 25/11/2019 11:28

@TheGoogleMum Really valid point about not getting hung up on the actual leaders. People should be voting for policies not personalities.

Tanith · 25/11/2019 11:29

"Tory" isn't really a nickname: it was the name of the original party that became the Conservative party.

Gribbie · 25/11/2019 11:32

Joint labour/Green, with lib-dem not far behind. Surprised to see I'm more a kipper than I am a tory - they were a long way in last place.

easyandy101 · 25/11/2019 11:33

SNP, libdem and labour tied, con, ukip, brexit

in reality, despite agreeing with some of the policies of most parties they are all full of shit and not to be trusted

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 25/11/2019 11:34

@Tanith

I didn't know that!

Agree that we shouldn't think that we are voting for a prime minister - they aren't elected and can change. But also, please remember that you are voting for an MP, not just a party. Choose the person you feel you trust most.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 25/11/2019 11:37

SNP, Green, Labour. No surprise there!

Cattenberg · 25/11/2019 11:44

Lapsed Green member here. I’m still a 94% fit with the Greens, 93% Labour. I’m shocked to see that I’m a much closer fit with the Brexit Party than the Tories. I’m least compatible with the Tories (24%). No wonder I can’t stand them.

goodwinter · 25/11/2019 11:49

94% Green; 93% Labour; 92% Lib Dem (interesting, because I'm fairly far left of the Lib Dems economically); 40% UKIP; 26% Tories... suppose there's always some overlap somewhere!

KamikazeIdiot · 25/11/2019 11:51

It tells me I identify most with the Greens, but I wouldn't vote for them where I live as the number 1 priority is the near-hopeless attempt to unseat the sitting Conservative MP.

Why did it ask me who I would vote for in the Woking electing? I've only been to Woking twice, and then only to get a bus to Heathrow. And I didn't see Prince Andrew eating pizza.

adaline · 25/11/2019 11:52

Labour, then Lib Dem, then Green! Not surprised at all.

KamikazeIdiot · 25/11/2019 11:56

But also, please remember that you are voting for an MP, not just a party. Choose the person you feel you trust most.

I know I can't trust the sitting Conservative member, whose first loyalty is to his paymasters in Saudi Arabia, but I don't have much confidence in the LibDem or Labour candidate either. The highest priority is trying to get rid of the Conservative, but after that I'd be influenced more by party than individual, as neither of the other candidates has any track record.

spacepyramid · 25/11/2019 11:56

Green, Labour, Lib Dem, UKIP, Tory. No wonder I can't stand the Tories.

Or to keep the nickname PP happy perhaps they could be:

sprouts, workers, indecisives, racists, bigots - that better?

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 25/11/2019 12:06

Lib dem, green, labour, Brexit....all scored between 80% and 89%

Then ukip at 46% and tory at 45%

How the hell did brexit score so high 😀

TheGoogleMum · 25/11/2019 12:06

I got 88% lib dems, 87% green and 84% labour. Currently live in a Labour seat that is at risk of being lost to conservative (which I am only 50% compatible with) so I think it'll be labour this time

OP posts:
goodwinter · 25/11/2019 12:07

@Cattenberg we must be the same person!

Gribbie · 25/11/2019 12:23

Goodwinter & Cattenberg - triplets Grin
Green/Labour - 93%
Libdem 91%
Brexit 50%
UKIP 38%
Tory 26 (maybe 24 - can't remember)%

aLilNonnyMouse · 25/11/2019 12:30

93% match to Labour, 41% Tory. Not that I needed a quiz to tell me that.

BertieBotts · 25/11/2019 12:33

Yes - I have lost faith in policies and I don't think the leader is especially important.

I vote for the candidate who I think will make the best local MP, because that's what really makes the difference. For me, that's the labour one because he does loads of work in the community, plus I agree with almost every single one of his voting records.

Research your local candidates, search their name in the local paper to see what they have been doing. Read their twitter pages - if possible, look back before all the election campaigning. Check their voting record, if they have been an MP before.

AlunWynsKnee · 25/11/2019 12:45

Labour followed by Green for me. Pretty accurate for my voting record.

JPharm · 25/11/2019 12:54

96% Green which surprised me somewhat. They aren’t fielding a candidate in my area anyway.
