To ask how you calculate your teenagers pocket money and what does it cover

DD is 15 in January and wants a monthly "allowance" instead of us just putting money into her account as and when.

She's in Yr 10 and obviously we'll continue to fund her bloody expensive sport and compeitions and phone contract, school uniform, shoes and coat.

What does your teen's pocket money cover? Are they expected to save from it?

TIA

I break down whatever I would normal spend per month and just let him manage it:
£10 hair cut
£36 bus fare
£60 lunches
£40 sundries
£10 for toiletries

I will give him half towards any clothes he wants to buy - for this he uses birthday and christmas money (he will usually get about £400 on both occasions from family and friends).

I pay his phone bill.

He gets iPhones and lap tops etc for birthdays and xmas.

He is currently looking for a job.

He is 17 and just started college.
