to think Boots.com is utter shite

I have had several past experiences of Boots.com being shit. Namely orders being sent to incorrect addresses, personalised Christmas items being lost and not re-delivered until after Christmas, items never ready to collect in store etc.

Well, I thought I would give them another go last week... more fool me. I spent £40 with the promise of a free beauty box worth £64.99. Due to collect in store next day. All good. Except the order was delayed, then only half of it turned up (funnily enough only the bits I had paid for), and now my "free gift" is nowhere to be seen. Customer services have basically said tough luck, the items were "subject to availability" and there's nothing they can do about it.

Is it just me that seems to constantly have a poor experience with Boots.com or has anyone else been ripped off by them too?

Another vote for beauty bay here , it’s the absolute best for makeup and skincare treats Smile

Blueglaze · 21/11/2019 21:04

Yeah I love Beauty bay!

I dislike Boots' online service. I ordered some hearing aid wipes from Boots and they took about 3 weeks to arrive. I thought it was a one-off but the same thing happened the next time. I ran out before the new boxes arrived both times, very frustrating. So I order them from Amazon now and they arrive the next day usually. If Boots want to survive, they need to sort out their delivery.

I love Boots! It's my favourite shop. From going there to buy Rimmel concealer and Clearasil when I was a teenager... to buying make-up for dates... to buying Tanpax and chocolate... to buying healthy lunches... to buying baby products for my kids... then buying vitamins and Super Plus tampax... It'll be TenaLady and hearing aids soon.

It's where I go to cheer myself up. Bubble bath, sweets, posh cosmetics or cotton wool. I love Boots.

I have long played the game of collecting Boots points. What with using their opticians and being part of the parents club I racked up enough points to buy my last lot of J’Adore perfume just with my Advantage card. So I really can’t complain. Even on my last order without the beauty box I still got a 3 for 2 offer, saved £10 because of spending over £30 on No. 7 products, and collected points on top.... they probably think I’ve had enough points/freebies and didn’t deserve any more!

I just wish they’d sort their online ordering out as the grief and frustration it causes isn’t worth it. I’m off to Google Beauty Bay...

Superdrug is much better. Free delivery over £10 and the deals are much better. Everytime I place an order with superdrug, I get stuff in the box for free with my delivery. I've had a little bottle of listerine mouthwash, a Dior pink clay face mask sample (enough to do 3 face masks), a little 5ml of a britney spears perfume, tic tacs (new flavour that's out) and condoms 😂. I just seem to get this free gift/sample that has a card attached saying 'we thought you'd like to try...'

I've given up on them after to many issues. The last order I placed had a 3 for 2 offer on something I use a lot. The third item wasn't in the parcel. DM ordered some stuff in the offer as well and had the same issue a few days later. Seems to be a theme.

Ireland based so my experience may be different to yours but it annoys the hell out of me when I order from Boots.com to be delivered at home/work. In invariably I get a phonecall from my local store saying that my parcel has been delivered to the store. I pay extra to get it delivered to home/work. I fairness to the staff they always offer to drop it to my work place but that it is not fair to them so never accept.

Emeraldshamrock · 21/11/2019 21:56

Yanbu. There Irish website is awful for cosmetics.
I thought I was on a false boots page.
Personally I prefer Superdrug better bargains.
Boots pharmacy is always packed.

lilsquish · 21/11/2019 22:38

the boots app is horrendous.

any time iv tried to load an offer and order something I don't get the points I'm due.

Iv reloaded it and added my card over and over but still fails all the time (and of course you don't know until after you've paid whether it's worked or not!)

Rubbish

CSIblonde · 21/11/2019 23:04

It's so overpriced I can't believe anyone shops there anymore. Superdrug & M&S have way nicer, cheaper & better quality Xmas smellies. I had a handcream & shower gel Xmas gift from Boots once, it looked cheap & nasty & smelt of precisely nothing: & got binned.

Mistlewoeandwhine · 21/11/2019 23:12

Boots are an American company now and pay very little tax. We shouldn’t be buying anything from them.

Haworthia · 21/11/2019 23:22

I used to love Boots and shopped there all the time. I don’t know what’s happened but they’ve totally lost their way. The stores are shabby and badly laid out. And yes, expensive.

Superdrug are streets ahead, and I remember when their stores were shabby and grim!

HappilyHarridan · 21/11/2019 23:24

I’ve given up on boots online after I ordered something to be delivered to a store on a specific date, two weeks after that date it still hadn’t arrived so I cancelled the order. They tried to insist that I couldn’t have a refund unless I posted it back. When I explained that I can’t send back what I don’t have, and given that the delivery address was their own store perhaps they could send it back to themselves (if it ever arrived) they got v cross with me. Cannot be arsed dealing with a company like that.
