To ask which nappies DO NOT have the 3 channel things that spread the wetness

Aibu to ask for collective wisdom please?

I need nappies in size 6+ that do NOT have those three channel things that are supposed to spread the wetness from front to back. Any nappy with those leaks on my DD overnight.
We used to use aldi and lidl, then they added the three channel thing and they leaked everynight. Switched to asda, now they have channels too.
Can anyone tell me which brands definitely don't have them please? I'm so fed up with washing bedding every day!!

Sainsburys little ones- seen me through 4 boys who wee loads

pastabest · 18/11/2019 21:53

I would have said Asda but I noticed they had changed recently.

To a certain extent though I would be concentrating on trying to minimise the wetness overnight too. My dd was flooding nappies for a while but we halved her drinks in the evening (literally gave her half a cup instead of a whole cup) and ask her to go for a wee before bed as part of her bedtime routine.

She's still not dry in the mornings (and at nearly 3 I wouldn't expect her to be) but she's also not got a bursting nappy.

Another vote for Sainsbury's

LongtimeLurker29 · 18/11/2019 22:12

I have 2 bed wetters and we don't give them a drink after 6pm and take them for a big wee before bed. They wear Lidl pull ups for bed and don't leak. We have tried so many brands and they seem to be best for us

LongtimeLurker29 · 18/11/2019 22:13

I know you said you tried the Lidl ones but maybe reducing liquids before bed will help a little. I understand how frustrating it can be so I feel for you and your little one

Sparrowlegs248 · 18/11/2019 22:14

I use Sainsbury. No idea about the channels, so maybe they donthave them?

Venger · 18/11/2019 22:18

We were getting leaks with Aldi and Pampers so switched to Sainsburys own brand (Little Ones?) and Morrisons own brand depending on which one I've done the shopping at when we've needed nappies, absolutely no leaks. I had to size up on the Morrisons as they seem to fit tight on the waist due to not being as stretchy but stayed in her usual size for the Sainsburys.

We do minimise liquid before bed, no drinks after 6pm and she wee on the toilet after dinner, before bath and straight before bed so can't really do any more to minimise wetness. It's only night nappies left, but I'm fed up with washing sheets now.
Asda nappies changed- now leak
Lidl lupilu - changed and now the worst of the lot for leaks
Aldi - changed design and now leak.

I have also wasted loads on leaky nappies and don't want to buy hundreds of packs trying to find one that stays dry!

Nope Sainsbury's have recently changed to the 3 channels thing too. I also think they are rubbish but haven't had too many issues with leaking.

Fowles94 · 19/11/2019 11:18

Junior cloth nappies 😊

MustardScreams · 19/11/2019 11:20

Pop a cloth nappy cover over them. Holds everything in!

Is she weeing in the night? Or is it a big wee when she wakes up?

HotPotatoBlessMySoul · 19/11/2019 11:20

Have you tried boots ones? Don’t think they have channels and they are softer than Sainsbury’s

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 19/11/2019 12:16

Ooh I didn't think of boots, thanks!

I don't really want to go and buy cloth as it's not likely to be for much longer, she's almost 4 and has been dry daytime for 18 months already. I did have a wool soaker that I used over the top of a disposable but tbh I'm not sure it helped. And she doesn't fit it now anyway so can't try that again.

So that's what causes it! Wondered why nappies are so rubbish at night, it's not necessarily a huge quantity. Must be that it spreads. Thanks op. I'm going to be looking for channels in nappies now!

Marshmallow91 · 19/11/2019 12:22

Pampers nappy pants, their nappies are 3 channel but the nappy pants aren't. I love them Smile

Lunafortheloveogod · 19/11/2019 12:25

If it’s the stripping of sheets there’s a bed pad thing that goes over her sheet? It’s also handy for d&v bugs as the puke can’t get into the mattress.. her pj’s won’t stay dry though so not sure if it’s a great bet.

Damntheman · 19/11/2019 13:27

it's not likely to be for much longer I wouldn't hang your hat on that. my six year old is still filling a nappy every night and he's been day dry for yeeeeears. I've given up having expectations of it ever ending ;)

Good luck finding the right nappies!

pastabest · 19/11/2019 13:48

I've just checked my ASDA size 6 pull ups and they haven't got channels. The bag is about a month old though because we only use one a day, I got a bag of size 4 tab fasten ones at the same time and they do have channels so maybe the pull-ups dont por maybe I just got an old bag?

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 19/11/2019 15:49

I will check the pull ups but up until now we've had to use nappies because the pull ups/pants style leaked out of the waistband - she's a stomach sleeper.
