To think Jennifer Arcuri is making a fool of herself

Just watched her on the V Derbyshire show and cringed.

She is a grown up and intelligent woman but is behaving like a teenager who's never been dumped.

Why would you do this?

She's detailing how BJ blocked her calls, and she read out a text she'd sent him to which he didn't reply.

I have a pretty low opinion of BJs' moral code so this is not a post where I'm defending him at all.

But I feel incredibly sorry for JA that she feels the need to air her hurt on national TV.

She isn't the first woman he has had a fling with and dumped ( Christ what about the 2 kids he's supposed to have with other women?) and dear old Carrie may not be his last.

Doesn't a woman of 30-odd get that if you have a fling with married bloke who is renowned for flings, you are likely to get dumped and you ought not to go onto TV and complain when he ignores you?

The issue is that he has lied about her and the money. Good on her for speaking out.

Sarcelle · 18/11/2019 15:50

She's on the make. A chancer. Just like BJ.

Lorraine trying to have a pop was so cringey. Makes a change from her usual girlish simpering though!

midnightmisssuki · 18/11/2019 15:52

everytime I see her I see bloody Miranda Lambert.

Yanbu.

I know it's cringe by J's face - fake exaggerated bemusement makes me laugh every time I see it

Brilliant confused face just after a pro hair flick

The point is not that he had a fling and dumped her, but that he used his position to get preference for her, that she was not entitled to.

This.

Surely the Conservative Party wouldn't be paying her to bring to everyone's attention the fact that he gave her money and didn't declare an interest - the fact that they were having a sexual relationship.

How is that supposed to make him look good? He broke the law.

@Usernumbers1234 Your posts seem all over the place. Are you trying to be ironic? (Your comments about I don't read MN and their opinion of Tory voters?) How do you know how much time I spend on MN? Are you MI5?

Very hard to follow. At one point you seemed to be agreeing with a poster who said this was a put up job to make JA look bad and BJ look 'better'. Now you are saying no one cares and it won't affect votes.

I have never said I didn't like or dislike BJ. I said I had a low opinion of his moral code.

I am Joe Public- and how do you know what Joe Public has followed or not? Where is your info to back that statement up?

I followed this as you like to call it because it's on the front page of the BBC News online at this moment with a clip. I also know the back story, yes, as I read the news and am interested in politics.

I am amazed that a 30-odd yr old woman who had a fling is bleating about his lack of response now the relationship is over and she is also threatening blackmail by saying she 'knows his secrets.'

It doesn’t make him look worse, it is ‘proving’ they no longer have a relationship.

The allegation is that they were in a relationship at the time she was given a ton of public money. Proving that they are not in a relationship now does nothing to disprove that.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 18/11/2019 17:27

She is doing the media rounds before being flown to the jungle of 'I'm a celebrity, get me outta here'. A nice little Brucie bonus of £500,000.

She cant say she actually had an sexual relationship with Boris in-case she gets sued. She has to not so subtly insinuate it with a giggle, a flick and flirt.

Someone somewhere will be furiously ghost writing her autobiography.

@MustardScreams, are you Prince Andrew's PR Adviser?

Usernumbers1234 · 18/11/2019 17:49

@LuBuloo

Joe public is a changing group of people. Yes you are joe public, but you aren’t the public that they are trying to influence here, there’s no point in influencing you as your mind is made up on Boris and you have read up on this story in some detail.

However there are swathes of the general public who vaguely know of the story but not the detail. From here it can go one of two ways, the Acuri story can become a central storyline to the election and Boris gets tainted by it. Or Acuri can go on a press tour, come across as a (slightly crazy) woman scorned trying to take her 15 mins of fame and everyone that vaguely followed the story dismisses her and the story as a non-story.

The second comment was an attempt at irony. But the point is clear enough. Whose vote is Acuri going to influence? People who hate Boris aren’t going to vote for Boris anyway, you for example (I suspect). Whatever she says is going to have no influence on your vote, you weren’t voting for him anyway.

Similarly the hardcore nasty tory voters that you read about on these boards, well , they will surely admire Boris for having a few bits on the side. So acuri has no impact on them.

The bit they are worried about is the middle ground. Now they can let the acuri story rumble on and let the tory opposition inject it into every storyline for the rest of the election. Or they can let her loose on GMB, with a script that makes her look like she just wants Boris to like her and the story goes away.

Besides, Corbyn doesn’t want to make this an election about their relationships with women, or he spends the next month getting the fact he invited his mates to look at Dianne Abbott naked thrown back in his face.
