After 23 years being together, I've just realised that DH puts sugar on his cereals BEFORE adding the milk. What sort of savagery is this?!

OP posts:
Thehagonthehill · 18/11/2019 00:11

But the OP puts ketchup in the fridge so is she to be trusted?

TheSilveryPussycat · 18/11/2019 00:17

I don't have sugar. However, if I have cornflakes or branflakes, I like to crush them into large crumbs, then leave to soak for a few minutes.

soupforbrains · 18/11/2019 00:23

@MitziK THANK YOU for bringing some sanity to the thread.

Sugar has NO place being added to any breakfast cereal so you are ALL savages.

Ketchup goes in the cupboard not the fridge, as does HP sauce. Mayonnaise and salad cream go in the fridge.

Endspeciesism · 18/11/2019 00:29

Savagery is the trillions of pregnant dairy cows and babies who are murdered so people who think they are baby cows can steal and drink the babies milk. Totally cruel, really unhealthy too, super freaky.

1066vegan · 18/11/2019 00:57

Do people still put sugar on cereals? Especially when they're grown adults? I thought that went out in the 70s.

GooseFeather · 18/11/2019 01:15

However, with milk and tea, milk should go into the teacup first so that the boiling water doesn't crack the fine bone china

Your tea should have brewed in a teapot and will therefore not be boiling hot when it is poured, so you can pour the tea first without problems.

MarthasGinYard · 18/11/2019 07:25

'YABU for calling it 'cereals'. It's just cereal

Ah, but the OP is talking about multiple instances of breakfast-related alleged abuse, so a plural makes more sense.'

No

They are still 'cereal'

Grin

Ps also didn't realise that folk still put sugar on.

PurpleGoose · 18/11/2019 09:28

@goosefeather unless you're stewing the tea it would still be too hot from a teapot, so milk should go in first.

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 18/11/2019 09:39

Reading that people mix different type of cereals in one bowl actually made me shudder.

DH's red flag is that he puts milk on cereal then puts the whole thing in the microwave. I should have left him the first time, it's too late now Angry

Animum2 · 18/11/2019 10:20

Oh and I always put milk and sugar in the cup before water when making tea Smile

MerryDeath · 18/11/2019 10:43

you add sugar..... to cereals?????? 🤯

GooodGolly · 18/11/2019 12:00

Pictures is fine (and I've only ever heard it used in Scotland) Cinemas is not

LookToTreblesGoingTreblesGone · 18/11/2019 12:08

@Endspeciesism you can't murder a cow. You can kill it but you can't murder it.

Oysterbabe · 18/11/2019 12:11

I don't know anyone who adds sugar to cereal, including children. I didn't realise this was a thing that people still did. Yabu.

ItsNovemberNotChristmas · 18/11/2019 12:14

Mine puts the milk in with the teabag, BEFORE the water shock he also does it with instant coffee

I always put the milk before the coffee, everyone I know does this - tastes much better and you're not supposed to put boiling water on instant coffee

TwatCat · 18/11/2019 15:25

Salad cream!? 🤮

OP posts:
WillLokireturn · 18/11/2019 23:04

Salad cream sandwiches.... Yum..... 😋
I'm chuckling that my 'ketchup does not go in the fridge' rule got some agreement too...!! (Fellow food savages unite! 😁 )
Obviously I am divorced.
(Maybe it was the ketchup/ tea/ sugar order for my whetabix ....)

NearlyGranny · 18/11/2019 23:13

Tea: loose leaf, made with freshly boiling water in a pot, left to brew before pouring, milk in last to control the colour, no risk to bone China mug or cup.
Ketchup: stored in the fridge.
Scone: rhymes with stone, eaten with jam on first, clotted cream on top.
Toilet paper: end hanging away from the wall, no suspect fingers folding pointless points to prove it's been contaminated.

There: fixed it! 😊

FarTooMuchWashing · 18/11/2019 23:13

Cereal, bleugh - can’t stand any of them, with or without sugar.
