So there.

Fried brussel sprouts (or baby cabbages for the haterz) in garlic butter with mushrooms and topped with goats cheese and chopped walnuts

Bloody gorgeous and it's all mine.

My apologies for ignoring you all, I was enjoying the fruits of my labour. It was truly the food of the gods.

For those who ANBU the recipe is

Finely slice the sprouts and mushrooms, bung 'em in a pan with a huge knob of garlic butter and fry on a low heat for 10 mins. Transfer to plate and top with cheese and nuts of choice. Lush.

I shred my sprouts in a food processor with a red onion. Fry in a big knob of butter and add a dash of white wine and Worcestershire sauce. Lots of salt and black pepper. Delicious!

PurpleDasies

That’s a recipe for massive farts later

Oh I truly hope so. That way I can punish DH for mocking my food

I love sprouts but hate preparing them so I cook them all at once. Trouble is I then eat them all at once.

Not sure about the goats cheese and walnuts though. I like them cut up and mixed with cooked potatoes and carrots, maybe parsnips as well, like Bubble & Squeak, with a fried egg on top and a big dollop of Branston pickle.

Or in a bowl with butter. Or with tagliatelli, garlic and a mix of olive oil and butter. maybe some pine nuts on top, and hard cheese.

managedmis · 15/11/2019 19:54

Hubba hubba

DishingOutDone · 15/11/2019 19:57

I fucking love sprouts. I've had sprout curry in a restaurant.

CharlottedeGaulle · 15/11/2019 19:58

Sounds better now you’ve said cheese and nuts “of choice”. But really sprouts with anything is fab. Have you tried sprouts with marmite butter? Delicious!

FeltCarrot · 15/11/2019 20:01

Nooooo! Stop messing with the sprouts! Boiled for 5 minutes, still al dente. Perfection. 😀

Popetthetreehugger · 15/11/2019 20:04

Yum .... side for Christmas?

GeneHuntLover · 15/11/2019 20:06

mumwon · 15/11/2019 20:10

d mil use to call sprouts button gobi her sprout curry was a thing of beauty - goodness that lady could cook & her pickles ...

kitk · 15/11/2019 20:12

Erm the goats cheese put me off. Try them fried with red onion and lardons!

MulticolourMophead · 15/11/2019 20:12

That sounds so nice. I might try it sometime.

It'd be a meal for one, though, DCs don't like sprouts.

cantfindname · 15/11/2019 20:13

My old neighbour used to slice them thinly and then fry with onion and turmeric. They were good, chopped smoked bacon would have improved them. I like mine plain boiled and then soused in vinegar.

BarbaraofSeville · 15/11/2019 20:17

Sounds fab but you forgot the bacon, or other cured pork product, although obviously I'll let you off if vegetarian or avoider of pork for religious reasons obviously.

Screenburn · 15/11/2019 20:17

My god OP that sounds amazing. adds sprouts to online shop

Lordamighty · 15/11/2019 20:19

🤢 🤢 🤢 That would be my worst nightmare meal.

Egghead68 · 15/11/2019 20:19

Oh wow - I think I’ll make that tomorrow.

TroysMammy · 15/11/2019 20:20

I expect you could do that with kalettes but roast them instead. Have you tried roasted sprouts OP?

MiniMum97 · 15/11/2019 20:21

Sounds amazing! Yum!

1WayOrAnother · 15/11/2019 20:22

Wow I'm going to try Shitley's recipe as we as yours OP. Just off to the supermarket....

marvellousnightforamooncup · 15/11/2019 20:22

YABU, ditch the mushrooms and make posh bubble with some spuds.

Mushrooms are rank.

TheElfFellOffTheShelf · 15/11/2019 20:50

Last Christmas! It was delicious but very, very thick. You could almost spread it on the bread like butter. Sprout spread, if you like Grin

It's all mine and I'm not going to share any of it
Letthemysterybe · 15/11/2019 21:04

And squeak with a fried egg on Monday!

Egghead68 · 16/11/2019 17:46

I'm thinking of putting chestnuts in mine and topping with crispy breadcumbs and blue cheese.
