Just posting on here for traffic really!
Little one is having a children in need event at nursery tomorrow. They have to go in spots or something pudsey related. Was expecting Asda to have something what I could pick up. Get there...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Everything is sold out.
Can’t order anything next day delivery as he starts at 8am in the morning. So I need to be creative or come up with something. (FYI I’m the least creative person ever 😩)
HELP!

Fabric pens and a yellow top?

TheTrollFairy · 14/11/2019 13:29

^^ and draw spots on it

parkrunhun · 14/11/2019 13:32

Tesco have packs of stick on multi coloured stars - enough to cover a whole child !

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 14/11/2019 13:32

Bag of the little Pom poms in the stationary/craft section of most supermarkets, a plain T-shirt and some fabric glue.

Fabric pens and a T-shirt - drawn spots or purses

Face paints to make child spotty

Flimflamfloogety · 14/11/2019 13:44

Is it definitely compulsory. I panicked when I got a text from the school about spots for DS, but they later back tracked and revised the spots to a "suggested theme". Mines going in whatever he chooses, spots be damned, he'll be paying the donation so it really doesn't matter what he's actually wearing

RedskyToNight · 14/11/2019 13:46

Just send him in whatever. No nursery age child is going to care, and the point is surely to raise money for CiN, not to spend more money than you donate on a costume?

DDiva · 14/11/2019 13:51

Boots are also selling children in need stuff.

Househunt1 · 14/11/2019 14:17

Yes just draw spots on a white top, most people do that! My childrens school have a superhero theme for it and i do not have any capes!!!! So I too am a bad mum.

TheReluctantCountess · 14/11/2019 14:19

Try a different Asda.

Knicknamehistory · 14/11/2019 14:21

Why do we stress about shit like this? Especially at nursery age! Wear whatever you want and donate anyway. I certainly wouldnt buy something new but maybe I'm miserable

DieCryHate · 14/11/2019 14:23

Don't worry I have also just received the children in need breezy message from nursery for tomorrow. My son will be wearing a bog standard yellowy mustard top he already has.

riotlady · 14/11/2019 14:30

we’ve just had a message from nursery about this too, not going to bother! Will send her in with a pound and buy a couple of cakes from the cake sale.

The quality of our mothering is not based on our ability to pander to last minute costume requests!

Foreverhungry32 · 14/11/2019 14:32

Thankyou for the suggestions
I’m adamant I’m not going back out in the rain so I’m just going to do what someone suggested and white top with spots on- using felt tips ha.
My mum suggested a pair of my brand new white granny pants cut into an eye patch with some spots on but I’ve decided against that 🤣
Thankyou again!

I agree that some schools and creches still believe that all Mums are sitting at home and are all ready to cater to every last wish whim of the schools.
Had it happen more than once, ignored most and the world is still turning.

OlaEliza · 14/11/2019 14:35

@househunt1 Yes just draw spots on a white top, most people do that! My childrens school have a superhero theme for it and i do not have any capes!!!! So I too am a bad mum.

Use a tea towel.

TheReluctantCountess · 14/11/2019 14:39

Check your local Facebook marketplace too - someone just down the road might be selling a t shirt from last year for a couple of quid.

lanthanum · 14/11/2019 15:07

Stickers would do and not wreck the top. If no stickers, does your handy packet of plasters have any circular ones in it?
Or face paint spots.
