According to my 14 yo DD I will be the only parent doing this but I feel SM is taking over her life! She would happily sit glued to it from the minute she gets home from school to the minute she goes to bed!

What sort of time do other teens spend on theirs? She says I'm being unfair, all her friends don't get limited or taken out their rooms at night etc... I'm beginning to think I'm losing touch with what's accepted now!

I detest phones (I don't have one) and social media.

My DD is 15, and is wedded to her phone. I take it to charge in my bedroom every night during term time. She wails and complains, says I'm the only one who does this; too bad. I give it back to her in the morning once she's dressed and organised. I have to switch it off while it's in my room as it pings endlessly.

I do mostly let her have it in her room overnight during the school holidays.

DS is 17 and regulates himself. Though he's not that bothered about phones, social media etc, and isn't into gaming, so it's easier.
