and always wondered why people post sunflowers when other posters are being goady?

All this time.

What an idiot.

In my defence it seemed perfectly reasonable that a parenting site would have a nipple emoji.

ooooohbetty · 12/11/2019 19:54

Thank god it wasn't just me @EL2019

EL2019 · 12/11/2019 20:06

ooooohbetty We are the only ones confessing. There must be more!

EL2019 · 12/11/2019 20:08

Ha! These replies made me laugh out loud (especially the one about thinking the poo emoji was the head of a brown hen! ) Feeling much better to know I’m not the only one Grin

Hahaha I can’t believe you thought it was a nipple 😂 @EL2019 ! But now you mention it I think it looks more like a nipple than a biscuit!

Bluntness100 · 13/11/2019 14:33

I also thought it was a flower when I first started using the site, and gave it this look when told it was supposed to be a biscuit. Confused

ShowOfHands · 13/11/2019 14:40

It does indeed mean no comment but has evolved slightly to mean "I am not even dignifying that with a response you goady fuckwit".

Once upon a time a normal response to an op was "4". Maybe we should resurrect that. And "parp".

WarmSausageTea · 13/11/2019 14:46

4 and parp? Could you elaborate, please, Show?

Though parp has reminded me that I used to think

Bibidy · 13/11/2019 14:55

Err I also thought it was a sunflower until right now!

Tbh I'm none the wiser about what it means even with that cleared up Confused.

Why does a biscuit mean no comment?!

Bezalelle · 13/11/2019 15:11

I used to think the turd emoji was the head of a brown hen

This has got me laughing like an absolute drain!

TheIncredibleBookEatingManchot · 13/11/2019 15:14

I used to think it was a bun and that people used it to start a bun fight.

riotlady · 13/11/2019 15:31

If it helps, I used to think that Hovis biscuits were shaped like little houses.

They’re bread loaves. Like Hovis bread.

Newbie1999 · 13/11/2019 15:33

I thought it was a sunflower, but no less confused now that I know it’s a biscuit?

Hagbeth · 13/11/2019 15:39

Oh I never knew what it was. I just thought it was some kind of dot?! 😀 My eye sight is not the best!

Shannith · 13/11/2019 15:43

Biscuitbasically means, "here, have a biscuit"

HTH

Newbie1999 · 13/11/2019 15:44

But what does ‘here, have a biscuit’ mean?!

Shannith · 13/11/2019 15:47

Which means

A passive aggressive "you are a troll"
Heard it all before love, didn't believe it the first time
Chinny reckon
Yesssss, like that really happened just as you said

Basically, you are talking bullocks and I'm not even going to dignity you with a sensible reason why because... you ain't wof it.

Think of it as a polite "oh do fuck of dear"

Or a sunflower
Or a nipple (s)

BiscuitBiscuit

ShowOfHands · 13/11/2019 15:48

Bibidy, it's explained up thread why it means no comment. Because GB refused to comment.

4 = I don't care (welcome to MN, please state your opinion. Press 1 for yes, 2 for no, 3 if you are undecided and 4 if you don't give a monkey's left testicle)

Parp = harder to explain. It's the sound a car horn makes and could be used in various ways from agreement to derision.

Shannith · 13/11/2019 15:48

Bollock and dignify.

I'll give myself a Biscuit

MereDintofPandiculation · 13/11/2019 15:52

"I've heard some peculiar comments in my time but that really takes the Biscuit"

MereDintofPandiculation · 13/11/2019 15:55

from a BBC "learning English" site:
"First you lost my keys, then you dropped my phone in the sink but this takes the biscuit. How did you manage to set fire to the television?"

Newbie1999 · 13/11/2019 15:57

Ahhhhhhhh, I see. Feel like I belong now Grin

AnneKipanki · 13/11/2019 16:44

Further upthread , someone has explained that it was from when Gordon Brown was repeatedly asked what his favourite biscuit was and he did not reply or no comment.@Bibidy
