My Manager is great, I sit right next to her so she gets to hear me go to her when I’m annoyed with things. I have two main gripes at work.
-
When a member of a team chooses to come up to my desk, laptop in hand with an IT issue that they know needs to be sent via ticket. However they’re too lazy to do it so expect me to stop what I’m doing to submit the ticket for them. My Manager tries to put a stop to this when she’s around but when she’s not they take advantage.

This one is a constant argument with me and my Manager. When I e-mail someone, without a high importance flag, it usually means it’s something that isn’t requiring an urgent response and I’d expect the person to reply via email as that was my original method of communication. However I’ve found that recruitment agencies we work with specifically, I send an email and they will call me. Every time. Just to ask a random question that they could’ve emailed. My Manager thinks I should answer the phone, but 9/10 I don’t as then they’ll expect me to be constantly available for a chat. That one is probably unreasonable on my part but really annoys me.
So everyone else, on a Friday night after a long week at work, what’s your annoyances at work?
