Hello all! (Sorry this isn’t really an AIBU but I’m panicking and thought I’d get the best replies here) Could this be a wisdom tooth? I’m confused as it feels like a tooth, but is to the side of my back molar, not behind.. plus I had an x-ray at the dentist only 3 weeks ago and he said my wisdom teeth looked deeply embedded into the bone and that they probably would never appear, and if they did not for a long time Confused. Any replies would be greatly appreciated!

It's an impacted wisdom tooth

CatToddlerUprising · 07/11/2019 22:08

Does look like a wisdom tooth. My lower ones look like that

Itsallgonewoowoo · 07/11/2019 22:08

Tonsil stones, they can be removed with a cotton bud. Google is your friend

adaline · 07/11/2019 22:09

Yep looks like an impacted wisdom tooth to me. Two of mine looked like that before they were removed!

It's your wisdom tooth erupting. Might be partially impacted. But no need to worry. Only contact your dentist ( for now anyway) as an emergency, if it is giving you pain /swelling etc/showing signs of infection.
It may stay like this happily, or possibly erupt further. It may cause a food trap between the wisdom and the tooth in front. Your dentist will need to keep an eye.

Another one for wisdom tooth. Mine was like that. Honestly no need to worry at all.

Whatjusthappenedthere · 07/11/2019 22:31

That’s a wisdom tooth alright. Keep in mind you will need to keep it clean now it’s partially erupted. Only need to see your dentist if it’s causing a problem.

BlueCornsihPixie · 07/11/2019 22:36

It's your wisdom tooth. You can't see if it's impacted based on one small bit!

You don't need to see a dentist. It's just a tooth. It will only need removing if it starts to cause you trouble. Most wisdom teeth don't cause problems. Even if it is impacted it doesn't need removal

If you get a lot of pain or swelling obviously see a dentist but no need to otherwise (apart from usual check ups). Make sure to keep it clean though and try and clean under the gum around it
