To send Dd to school with writing on her arm?

MIL took DD (7) out for the day yesterday and wrote her telephone number on DD's arm in rather large print in a permanent marker. It's a habit she got into after she lost DS when he was 4.

It won't come off. Normally she doesn't write it so large but it covers the top of the length of her arm from elbow to wrist. I've said DD needs to wear a long sleeved t-shirt so no one sees it, she wants to wear short-sleeved because it has butterflies on it.

How can I get it off?
Battle that she wears a long sleeved shirt?
Let everyone in school know MIL's phone number?

Try perfume . Anything with alcohol in it. Use permanent marker a lot at work and basically any alcohol is worth a shit

Grin Not the worst 'body art' the school will have seen OP

For future reference alcohol hand sanitizer works a dream on most inks. I used to work in care and regularly had pens leak into the pockets of my white tunic - a soak in hand sanitizer and a hot wash and it was gone. Smile

Don’t all children go to school with writing on their bodies? Or their lips stained blue from sucking pens? Or a ridiculous haircut they gave themselves? Who will bat an eyelid?

Yup. My son once sneaked a Sharpie upstairs and coloured 70% of his body in blue.

Butter.
Smear it on the ink stain, leave for a few minutes, rub with a cloth then wash with soap and water.

DS went to school on the Monday after his 16th on the Saturday with the remnants of 'knob' across his forehead and a rather fetching moustache. Alcohol, mates and sharpies do not mix.
He went to the science lab in the end and won over the teacher who used some chemical or other (probably alcohol if this thread is anything to go by) to get rid of it.

Suncream is what we use in NZ. Schools seem to write in sharpie on children here and suncream gets it off.

I don't think school would bat an eyelid. My dd 5 and 7 are often marked with pen or those transfers that last for weeks. I wouldn't worry about covering up.
