To keep DD off tomorrow?

My DD is 4 and in reception. She has been struggling with sleep since about 3 weeks before half term with odd 10.30/11 nights once or twice a week. This week she has fallen asleep 10pm, 11.30pm and 10pm 3 nights on the trot and is so exhausted she can barely stand. If she has another bad night tonight would I be unreasonable to keep her off tomorrow?

I would keep her off. She’s 4 and exhausted.

I don’t think it’s an unreasonable idea, but if you can hold out another day I’d give her Friday off then she’s got three days to recover.

Have you tried using guided meditation to help her sleep? It works for me when nothing else does. I know there are various apps which do guided meditation for children, it’s just a gentle voice and story to help the mind and body switch off for sleep.

She fell asleep 20 minutes ago. I don't get how a child so exhausted can still be bouncing at 9.45pm.

In two minds about school tomorrow

I'd keep her off. As a one off.

What time are you putting her to bed at? My dd5 needs to be in bed before 7. If we miss it, she could be up until the time you say your dd is awake until. Same with my dd1. We do wind down time before bed and then a story. I find too many stories over stimulate.

She needs her rest. But she also needs to learn to go to sleep.
