Aww it can come and join my not so little house spider that comes out the airing cupboard every now and then and sits in my hallway or wonders across my living room carpet until I pop it back in the airing cupboard to stay warm. 🕷

ThatssomebadhatHarry · 02/11/2019 00:29

That’s the common Bulbous Oculi Muncher. It only comes out at night to eat eyeballs. It looks hungry.

MiddleClassProblem · 02/11/2019 00:29

😂

FuntimeFranky · 02/11/2019 00:30

Crawley65 NFW! I’d move out... had a nasty one the other day myself. Decorating the kitchen, seemed to come from behind the cupboard. It was as big as it looked and star shaped ewww.

@Crawley65 - I would have legitimately peed myself, cried, and maybe even have had a slight temporary cardiac arrhythmia. I live in Australia- and I am arachnophobic. I thankfully seem to have a mainly working deal with the huntsman spiders over here that I won't clean/ dust the books and crannies around the waves in the ceiling, and they'll stay there and not come out to say hello. If I saw one on the couch, the above would be the reaction.......

FuntimeFranky · 02/11/2019 00:49

@SD1978 I honestly wouldn’t cope in Australia. My X lives there now, he was telling me about an incident in his garden shed. A spider literally jumped at him as if to attack. He said it was huge! He s not normally afraid of them but this shook him up. Ugh, I’m on edge.

starfishcoffee · 02/11/2019 07:40

@Crawley65

Oh my, you're brave. I'd have probably leapt up and burst into tears!Confused I am badly phobic though.

  1. Grab Hoover, cillit bang, hairspray and deodorant.
  2. Spray beasty with deodorant, cillit bang then hairspray (has to be in that order!)
  3. Hoover damp and sticky, but nice smelling beasty up.
  4. Wrap hoover in clingfilm.
  5. Wrap clingfilmed Hoover in heavy duty bin bags.
  6. Pour petrol over wrapped hoover.
  7. Light petrol covered wrapped hoover and run, so you cant hear beasties screams.
  8. Sit in a corner rocking back and forth, spouting utter gibberish.
  9. Have 4 bottles glasses of wine to calm the nerves.
10. Move to the moon, just in case beasty is related to Michael Myers and didnt actually die and will then hunt you down over the course of 1700 films years! I am praying for you OPFlowers
SD1978 · 02/11/2019 09:46

@FuntimeFranky - I don't do well. I used to crap myself with the UK ones and now between huntsmen and wolf spiders I am terrified! Huntsman are your basic house spider here- but the size of the plan of your hand and wolf spiders carry all their hundreds of babies with them and if you try to squash- the babies swarm off and attack!!!! It's a whole new level of hell!!! 🤣

FuntimeFranky · 02/11/2019 10:10

@SD1978 It certainly sounds like it! 😮 I’ve actually decided to find some therapy because it’s really affecting my life. I’m on edge as soon a September arrives and literally can’t rest.

SD1978 · 02/11/2019 10:15

@FuntimeFranky - same. I juts want to be able to get them out the house- if I could do that life would be much, much easier!
