Aibu to wonder how old your kids are and how you/they spent half term?

OP posts:
Myimaginaryfamiliarhasfleas · 01/11/2019 15:34

My kids are in their thirties and I've spent half term avoiding the shops and town centre Grin

stucknoue · 01/11/2019 15:37

My kids are at university, it's called "reading week" now and they spent it in nightclubs and sleeping all dayGrin

mbosnz · 01/11/2019 15:37

My kids are teens, they've spent their time studying, sleeping and socialising. And eating. A lot of eating.

MissSueFlay · 01/11/2019 15:38

7yo DD - we all went to the Lakes and climbed a couple of mountains. That was last week when the weather was better.

my2bundles · 01/11/2019 15:39

My 11 year old spent it playing, relaxing and watching Netflix. He just started high school and really needed a week to just chill.

lazylinguist · 01/11/2019 15:40

My dc are 11 and 14. They spent half term, drawing, reading, listening to music, hanging out with friends, watching films, going on dog walks, spending time with their grandparents who came to stay for a couple of days.

BrightonBB · 01/11/2019 15:43

Aged 8 and for once I avoided planning loads of trips. Spent the days making pancakes, playing Lego, jigsaws, boardgames, some PS4, watching films on TV, baking a cake, reading. And we’ve all really enjoyed it. Actually felt fully relaxed.

XXXXXX42 · 01/11/2019 15:45

8yr old DD. She and I went to Paris for 4 days. I worked from home this morning whilst she played. We are doing a family Halloween party this afternoon. She is off to her Dads for the weekend!

Spanglyprincess1 · 01/11/2019 15:48

Went to Wales... Car broke down 18hrs to get back. 4 kids so not even funny.
National trust days out the zoo and made buscuits, carved pumpkins and watched family scary films.
Hocus pocus is ace

duckling84 · 01/11/2019 15:50

4 dc - 15,10,7,3 and we went to sunny spain for half term last week. Otherwise it would've been playstation, tablets and park visits like we usually do, except the teen who will be in her room, in her pjs, on her phone all week.

Ponoka7 · 01/11/2019 15:52

My Grandchildren haven't been well over half term.

They had one day of winter/Christmas clothes/boots shopping and one family Halloween event. There's loads of stuff going on where they live, including in the library, but they haven't felt upto it.

DefConOne · 01/11/2019 15:52

Mine were off last week. Aged 12 and 9. Had 4 nights at Butlins, their first visit. Needed the weekend to recover.

MinnieMountain · 01/11/2019 15:59

DS is 5. We went to his DGPs in Spain.

TSSDNCOP · 01/11/2019 16:06

We have done Xbox, two games days with grandma, revision, Halloween, meals out, cinema, sleepovers, play date, a day out yesterday that was amazing and a posh lunch today.

GetOffTheTableMabel · 01/11/2019 16:11

19 and 14. 19 year old in first year at university but had a reading week. 3 nights in Copenhagen. The rest of the time spent getting up late, lounging around on phones, a couple of trips out with friends. Really lazy. (Me, as well as them).

Meltedicicle · 01/11/2019 16:14

11 and 8. We went to butlins for a long weekend, saw family, went to the theatre and had a couple of play dates. Threw a Halloween party yesterday. It’s been really nice.

Whattodoabout · 01/11/2019 16:16

1, 7, 8 and 9.

It was the youngest’s first birthday so we went to the zoo. We also went to an archaeology camp, to see the Addams family at the cinema, an RSPB moonlight walk, pumpkin picking and did trick or treating and a few other Halloween activities yesterday. Had lots of fun, dreading Monday.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 01/11/2019 16:19

Mine are 18 and 15.
The 18yo is at uni.
I spent 3 days of half term in another country without them. Then yday 15yo dd went out with a friend and I went to liverpool to watch Tim Minchin. Today she is fleecing me for clothes in Chester.

LoonyLunaLoo · 01/11/2019 16:21

DS was off last week but we went to Italy.

BillywigSting · 01/11/2019 16:24

Mine is six, we went swimming every day, for a walk in the wetlands, had a day in town with my dm for her birthday, had a day in the house, went to the natural history museum and out for lunch and the library one day.

I'm now knackered and skint.

PumpkinPie2016 · 01/11/2019 16:28

DS is 5 and we have just arrived back from a week in the Lake District. Had lovely weather, did lots of walking plus a couple of museums etc.

BillywigSting · 01/11/2019 16:31

Also went to a brilliant Halloween party

SheChoseDown · 01/11/2019 16:31

Football club for 10 yr old. Me and baby walked dog on the beach and the woods, went child minder spent a day with nana.
No high expectations. Just chilled. Weather was beautiful

MaryBoBary · 01/11/2019 16:32

I broke my arm just before half term and had surgery this week so my 3 year old had a last minute trip to his grandparents for 4 days

MissMogwai · 01/11/2019 16:38

DD15 has been out with friends, revised and done a lot of homework, graced me with her presence on a shopping (and food) trip and spent time watching films and on her phone.

She graciously agreed to carve pumpkins and make Halloween crafts with her older sister and niece, before retreating to her pit.

A good half term.
