To think I shouldn’t get strap-ons when I search for tshirts on Amazon

Was searching for a tshirt for DS as a basis for a Halloween costume.

Up pops a picture of an absurdly large fake penis strapped on and sticking out. DD (8) was looking over my shoulder and was quite disturbed.

I contacted CS and they asked me for the ASIN (ref number). So I had to click on the item.

I did the same search again today and I’m getting more ginormous willies but with different apparatus attached.

FTAOD I’ve never bought any adult items on Amazon, or anywhere. Happy for others to do their thing if that’s what floats their boat, but I think amazon should have an opt-in or opt-out.

AIBU to think that this stuff shouldn’t come up if you’re just searching for a t-shirt?

when I search for t-shirts I actually get t-shirts - what exactly are you searching for OP?

BlackCatSleeping · 31/10/2019 11:23

Can you check you computer? Make sure there isn’t any malware or anything nasty installed.

implantsandaDyson · 31/10/2019 11:25

I search for tshirts all the time on Amazon (I've just done Christmas and birthday lists for my kids and have put Stranger things/Brooklyn 99/The Office tshirts on them) and not once have I seen penis - strap on or otherwise.

Thatsenoughjuststopit · 31/10/2019 11:26

Agree with pp, I have often used Amazon for clothing and have searched t-shirts for girls and never got dildos.

I have searched fishing tackle on Google and got a live porn site though, this has happened once in all the time I have used the internet.

Cosmas · 31/10/2019 11:28

I think the issue was that I put in “flesh colour t shirt”.

If anyone could search and see what they get it would be interesting.

I can post screenshots if anyone is disbelieving...

I have just had a search and yes your right some interesting things in among clothes!!

1066vegan · 31/10/2019 11:32

That's it then. "flesh colour" will also be in the description of more dodgy products.

Btw, by "flesh colour" did you mean a pinky peach colour? Skin comes in lots of different colours.

Thatsenoughjuststopit · 31/10/2019 11:33

Oh I've just tried your search and almost had my eyes put out!!!!!!!

They are definitely not t-shirts!!!!!!!!

BillHadersNewWife · 31/10/2019 11:33

Yes...>SEO is a weird thing. It's one reason you shouldn't shop on Amazon with your children next to you.

SunshineAngel · 31/10/2019 11:34

Either this is made up BS or you didn't just search for "t shirt". Sorry.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 31/10/2019 11:35

what even is flesh colour?
When have you ever seen a tshirt that’s colour has been called flesh colour?

You put in a daft description, so amazon gave you daft “flesh” colour results....

NearlyGranny · 31/10/2019 11:35

I did a work computer search for images of mermaids, once, and another for volcanoes...

Nuff said.

Yes that was an interesting search , nude coloured tshirts turns up tshirts - it's the "flesh" component.

SlightlyStaleCocoPops · 31/10/2019 11:36

😂😂😂

Alicia9999 · 31/10/2019 11:38

YABU for thinking Amazon 'should' or 'shouldn't' do anything. They are a huge company and they can do what they like really.

It's a marketplace, anything and everything is on there. Maybe just don't shop on Amazon in future.

safariboot · 31/10/2019 11:38

YANBU.

Does Amazon not have a "safesearch" option or anything like that?

Findumdum1 · 31/10/2019 11:44

This reminds me of when my 9y old was doing homework on the water cycle. He'd been on a school trip to a water treatment plant where they had cute water droplet characters called Gush and Flow. He googled in images as wanted pictures of them to put in his presentation. Even with Google safe search enabled you can imagine the images he got back. I remember him saying mum why am I getting all these pictures of women with something wrong with their bits before I closed the screen down. Really annoyed me actually as some intern at Sutton and East Surrey eater had obviously done it deliberately.

Findumdum1 · 31/10/2019 11:45

water not eater

drinkswineoutofamug · 31/10/2019 11:46

That was the most amusing amazon search . Thank you op. Now I know why my neighbour has her washing machine on so often. Dildo with a suction cup 😂

Cosmas · 31/10/2019 11:48

Erm, so it’s my fault for searching for “flesh colour”?! And Amazon is such a dodgy website that children shouldn’t be allowed near it? Okayyy.

It would be a good idea to avoid amazon anyway so this might be the push I need.

are you absolutely sure you were looking for tshirts and not tbags!!!?? Sorry OP I just couldnt resist! By the way I woudnt advise looking for tbagging if the kids are about either!!!!

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 31/10/2019 11:52

I do apologise OP for above ..its just your post amused me and my black humour and I have had a wine too...

GoodJobSteve · 31/10/2019 11:54

If you had a DP I was going to suggest something in their previous searches had influenced your current search result, and that you now knew what to buy them for Christmas Grin
