Comforter which has been glue to your human toddler side for a year and you were all of a sudden missing at bed time, where would you be?!

Last seen downstairs in the house!!!

Pile of towels /clean washing /ironing pile?

PixiKitKat · 30/10/2019 21:14

Squashed under the sofa cushions? If you have floor length curtains could it hidden at the bottom of those?

slipperywhensparticus · 30/10/2019 21:15

Mumble?

BeBesideTheSea · 30/10/2019 21:16

Inside the duvet cover.
Stuffed inside the sleeve of dressing gown.

itswinetime · 30/10/2019 21:22

Personally I'd be in the fridge/alcohol cupboard Wink

In reality do you have a toy kitchen or anything he could be stuffed inside? Have you had any shopping bags out today that you have put away? Any parcels or deliveries you have put away he could be caught up with?

FurrySlipperBoots · 30/10/2019 21:23

A comfort blanket from one of my little ones was found (days later!) in the play cooker at preschool. Suggestions:

Inside a box, cupboard or on a chair that's pushed under the table so it's their eye height but out of your sight

Lining a dolls cot

In an adult pocket or in the car (could it have fallen down and then slid into that space under the front seats?)

In the garden

In the middle of a pile of picture books

In the midst of a teddy bear collection

Inside an item of clothing

In the toilet bowl

In the bath

In the fridge or freezer

In a handbag/briefcase/trunki/any other bag or suitcase

Underneath the sofa

Under any of the beds (not just toddler's)

Crawl around so you're at the child's eye level and see if that helps.

Not to sound too much like my mum, but where and when did you last have it?

Drinkciderfromalemon · 30/10/2019 21:23

As pp, I was going to suggest coat sleeve. Many a manky muslin got stuck in sleeves when she yanked her coat off still holding it.

greyblackday · 30/10/2019 21:26

I've called of a night. Hoping it turns up on the morning 😩

OP posts:
allabouteve1 · 30/10/2019 21:26

In your bed ( I know you said down stairs but it might have migrated upstairs)

In one of your winter boots.
In their wellie
In the bottom of the pram
In the foot stool

bridgetreilly · 30/10/2019 21:28

Honestly, if he's managing to sleep without it, I wouldn't be rushing around like a madwoman to find it. It'll turn up, probably.

FrangipaniBlue · 30/10/2019 22:17

If you have any blankets lying around give them a shake?

user1473878824 · 30/10/2019 22:59

If it isn’t behind a radiator I’m going to be livid frankly.

greyblackday · 31/10/2019 07:35

Still hasn't turned up and it's all he's asked about this morning!

Husband said he was playing with it downstairs in the afternoon. They hadn't been out anywhere so it has to be at home.

I've even moved the search upstairs and still nothing!

Justonemoremojito · 31/10/2019 07:37

Toy kitchen? Any bags they play with? Honestly it will turn up in either the most random or most obvious place

greyblackday · 31/10/2019 08:13

Look what has turned up!!!

PanchoBarnes · 31/10/2019 08:21

Fabulous that you found it. But you'll need to tell us where it was!

greyblackday · 31/10/2019 08:39

@PanchoBarnes I'm actually embarrassed to say haha!

It was...... in the toy box Blush (I emptied it out twice last night!!)

And to top it off, he wasn't remotely excited as his porridge was far more important

OP posts:
greyblackday · 31/10/2019 08:39

I DID however also find an old £10 note too.

Sorry this didn't have a more exciting climax!

OP posts:
PanchoBarnes · 31/10/2019 08:57

@greyblackday
hahaha... I was thinking 'look in the toy box' as I read it -- but didn't see the thread last night to make the suggestion then.
But then again - if you had already emptied it out twice while looking.... hmmmm.... perhaps Halloween goblins being mischievous?

Meanwhile, vv cool that you found a tenner -- I quite like that ending!
👍 🙌

greyblackday · 31/10/2019 08:58

Sadly it's one of the old paper ones, think it might be too late to change it!

If your DDC has not got a copy of Shirley Hughes 'Dogger', buy one for him today!

So glad Penguin emerged. My talented MiL once wrote and illustrated a book about DD1's left behind toy mouse Snowy! Here she is reporting being found!

PanchoBarnes · 31/10/2019 09:29

@greyblackday
Uh Oh however
I'm not positive, but I think that although you can't spend it at a shop, you can still exchange it at your bank, for a current £10...
...I think?

highheelsandweathercocks · 31/10/2019 09:47

I'm guessing that you were frantic when you emptied the toy box, tipping, rifling and then tipping back in in despair. It's easily done. When I'm searching for something in something like the toy box, I force myself to slow down and go through each item methodically. It's amazing how quickly you can find it then.

Glad he's turned up.

greyblackday · 31/10/2019 09:52

Thanks for the help all!

I might use my new £10 to buy another penguin... Grin just in case!

GreyhoundzRool · 31/10/2019 09:53

You can pay old notes in at the bank but not change them - I’ve just done it with notes and old £1 coins too
