Argh!! I need a rant.

I am just home from walking my five year old to school. Combination of paths and streets, lots of kids walking to and from school.

Every time it is a stressful game of dodge the poo. It is everywhere. On one particular path it is smeared horizontally across the width of path. It is even on the pavements just outside the school. I am not exaggerating, there is loads of it.

Who are these people? These absolute brass necked fuckers who can just walk away and leave a steaming pile of shite behind them??

We live in a “nice” area - mainly professionals, families and elderly people. There are plenty of red bins. Plenty of signs up reminding people to pick up after their dog but still this issue is awful.

I like dogs fine. Don’t have one because we both work long hours and have small children, but I bear them no grudge. It is the horrible, filthy owners.

There are plenty of dog owners on Mumsnet. What’s your reason for not picking up the poo? This is a common problem so there must be some of you out there.

😡😡😡

I rarely see poo around here, there's a bit but we are overrun with foxes so as likely to be them. Visiting friends though it was everywhere - it varies a lot

rookiemere · 30/10/2019 14:24

Not a lot of unpicked up poo around here except from the horses but a lot of the dangling poo bags. I do wonder what goes through people's heads to go to the effort of bagging it and then not binning it Hmm

I really can't stand this. We have a parking bay outside out house but it's got grass along the edge. Someone always let's their dog shit right next to my car!!! Have thankfully managed to avoid stepping in it but only because I'm on high alert for it. Only ever happens late at night or early in the morning. During the day I watch when people stop outside with their dogs and pray for the day I catch someone not picking up after them, cos I will chase them down and drop that steamy shit on their head if I ever do.

We have two alley ways local to us known as shit can alley. It's revolting. My walk to school mostly consists of me shouting 'poo' 'poo on the right' poo on the left etc.

I have a dog, I always pick up.

This really gives me the rage, there is a public footpath leading to woods which we (and many others) have to use to get into DDs school and there is always poo everywhere, you really have to dodge it and be careful. Many times I've shouted after people if their dog has had a poo and they just start walking away, it disgusting

My cat is weird and brings random stuff home. Gloves, socks, stuffed toys, plastic bags and the worst by far is dog shit bags that haven't made it to a bin. By the time my devil cat has dragged them to my doorstep they're ripped and 10x more disgusting, spilling out on my step. Tree and fence poops are almost as bad as ones not picked up at all.

As a dog owner, it drives me nuts. Even at 7 months pg I was doing some mental squats to pick up poo. When I stopped being able to reach, my husband took him out. Always having to wash my pram wheels off because of shit.

Round here it's the elderly or people walking ahead of their dog and not seeing.

My husband shouted to a man the other day that his dog was pooing, he thanked him and then looked like he was picking it up. When we caught up with him we realised he had FAKED IT. Got the bag out and everything.

LolaSmiles · 30/10/2019 15:45

It's not too bad around my area thankfully. It's a minority of people who leave a mess in any area.

I think it's a mixture of laziness and poor supervision.

As PP said the poo fairy trees are particularly annoying in national trust places and popular rural walking areas.

What can be done? Really there must be something that we can do
