I’ve always ummed and aaahhed over getting these or not, but having spent a small fortune this year on individual day trips I decided to have another look and brace met self for the stinking great layout of cash.

But you can now pay monthly, initial payment of £30-35 pp depending on which option you choose, then £8.99 or £11.99 for 12 months.

So much more affordable, and we’ll go more because we can.

Sorry kids we can’t go to Chesington we’re saving for next year, we’ll go then.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic but that is what I would say. We can't afford it this year but are saving for a pass to go as many times as we would like next year.

Well I suppose it depends how tight money is and your attitude to getting the best price.

I don't know how much a sale pass is, but if it's significantly cheaper than the monthly membership, and you don't have lots of money, it's reasonable to save until you have the money for a sale pass.

After all, theme parks are still an expensive luxury no matter how you pay for them and you have to be careful to control associated costs that can make them expensive even with annual passes - another reason why they want more people to have passes so people will go more and hopefully spend in the restaurants and gift shops while they are there.

If the sale passes are (for example) half price, then paying monthly does start to look expensive.

You can save £10 a month to buy a pass next year only if you don’t have any other days out in the meantime. Obviously people would prefer to use that £10 per month and get an immediate benefit.

I’m not on the breadline by any means but like most people my income is allocated to pots like holidays, pension, saving for new roof that means I would be resistant to spending £100s in a large chunk from the disposable income I have left over, whereas I could budget for a smaller amount monthly much more easily.

Blimey.

Just to say I could pay for the passes at once should I do please, but I don’t want to.

I’d rather pay monthly, yes there’ll probably be a month where I don’t use it, but in others I’ll use it loads others.

The difference between standard and premium is £41 over the year pp.

The only thing I might want to look at further is cost of parking, if I’m going to go more than 12 times then it might be worth putting one of the passes as a premium and keeping the others as standard.

Also not sure if stiff like the fright night and bank holidays I’d go for anyway as they’d be heaving.

I think also they may be heavily discounted on Black Friday
