Was I unreasonable to mishear this?

Just been for a gynaecology appointment at the hospital,I've waited months for it and having various symptoms.
I had my internal with the spectrum etc, afterwards the nurse said "would you like some wipes?" Which I misheard as "would you like some wine?" God knows why I heard that over wipes,it was an NHS hospital after all with much better things to do than to offer a glass of Chablis after theyve looked into your vagina Gin
I did tell the nurse what I thought she'd said and her and the doctor laughed their heads off Blush Well at least I cheered them up i suppose.I am definitely having wine tonight!

Thats funny op. I work in a shop and frequently forget myself on autopilot. Instead of saying fo you want a bag i once asked a customer if he wanted a drink 😂

I didn't have a lot of sleep last night and I bloody would have loved an ice cold glass of white 😁

Grin love it!
Love mishearing things or misinterpreting stuff!
When I worked at the ambulance service a lady rang 999 for her husband - she lived fairly remotely so said she'd go out and flag the ambulance down but she said she had a broken leg so she would go outside and 'wave her crutch at them' Shock
Enjoy your wine (wipes) Wine

I went for a breast exam and def didn't mishear her say it must be cold outside - wanted to just leave tbh.
Glad your NHS appointment was more lighthearted!!

I had surgery a few months back and the nurse was lovely at asking permission before doing anything.
At one point I swear she asked permission to put on a CD, I said “of course, I’ll be under anaesthetic and I won’t really hear it will I”. Little did I know it was an abbreviation for oscillating leg wraps.

"Years ago" if you went to give blood at the head office in Margaret Street London you could have a bottle of Harp or Guinness when you had finished!

Those were the days for blood donors!

I'm impressed they offered you wipes! I've had so many internal scans over the last few years (thanks reproductive system Hmm) and never offered anything so useful!

SnorkMaiden81 · 29/10/2019 17:44

I confused 'go ahead' and 'fire away' on the phone to a customer yesterday and told her to 'go away'. Grin

PrincessHoneysuckle · 29/10/2019 18:08

@DontLettuce yes I was very pleased,I'm South Yorkshire.
