Was I unreasonable to mishear this?

Just been for a gynaecology appointment at the hospital,I've waited months for it and having various symptoms.
I had my internal with the spectrum etc, afterwards the nurse said "would you like some wipes?" Which I misheard as "would you like some wine?" God knows why I heard that over wipes,it was an NHS hospital after all with much better things to do than to offer a glass of Chablis after theyve looked into your vagina Gin
I did tell the nurse what I thought she'd said and her and the doctor laughed their heads off Blush Well at least I cheered them up i suppose.I am definitely having wine tonight!

Thats funny op. I work in a shop and frequently forget myself on autopilot. Instead of saying fo you want a bag i once asked a customer if he wanted a drink 😂

Love mishearing things or misinterpreting stuff!
When I worked at the ambulance service a lady rang 999 for her husband - she lived fairly remotely so said she'd go out and flag the ambulance down but she said she had a broken leg so she would go outside and 'wave her crutch at them' Shock

I went for a breast exam and def didn't mishear her say it must be cold outside - wanted to just leave tbh.
Glad your NHS appointment was more lighthearted!!

I had surgery a few months back and the nurse was lovely at asking permission before doing anything.
At one point I swear she asked permission to put on a CD, I said “of course, I’ll be under anaesthetic and I won’t really hear it will I”. Little did I know it was an abbreviation for oscillating leg wraps.

"Years ago" if you went to give blood at the head office in Margaret Street London you could have a bottle of Harp or Guinness when you had finished!

Those were the days for blood donors!
