To feel pressured into fun family days out!

Why do I always end up being the one to ‘make fun’ for the family! Is it always the role of the mum to do this!! Anyone else always left to the fun making?

Also I am currently in west Norfolk in a caravan on a well known holiday park with parents, a 5 year old and a 10month old and the one thing I actually wanted to do Sandringham is closed! If anyone has any suggestions that keep old and young entertained and allows for nap times please let me know.. I fear I have consigned us to a week of expensive meh..

Hunstanton beach- as long as they're warm the kids will love it. Sea life centre is great if you have got the money.
Norfolk Lavender- lovely softplay and mini farm.
Snettison (think that's how it's spelt) farm - my kids loved the animals and playground.

Feel for you but at least it's dry! There's a swimming pool in Hunstaton as well with a softplay.

Find a steam train that's running, always works for us. Surely your parents have some ideas though?

My parents live round there and I second everything that @moita recommends!
We always go to the 2ps (slots) as well. There is a huge cheapo shop on the corner of the green that has loads of colouring books etc to keep them busy as well.
Wells is nice and you can get the little train from the beach to the town or walk it. Good playground from what I can remember plus all the pretty beach huts. Usually people crabbing too so you can watch or join in.
Fish and chips at Eric’s in Thornham, amazing.
Have fun!

Birdwatching at Titchwell Marsh (with hides, a shop and a café):

The Norfolk Wildlife Trust have some nice places-
Holme Dunes is pretty with pine woods and Dune lakes and they have a visitors Centre with a café and a shop

Cley has some nice walks (but I thought those around Holme Dunes were prettiger and more varied) and the visitors centre is quite big with a nice café (the food at the NWT seems very nice), a shop and a room where they show a video on loop about nature in the area. www.norfolkwildlifetrust.org.uk/wildlife-in-norfolk/nature-reserves

For fish and chips (or in my case fried halloumi and chips) i found Fishers of Hunstanton good.

castle rising - sea life sanctuary in Hunstanton -

sleepmcsleepysleepsleep · 29/10/2019 09:20

Thanks guys, going to check out Snettisham this morning as it is close enough to come back for naps this morning and then castle rising in the afternoon! Going to save sea life centre for Thursday when it’s raining so may try wells tomorrow. Annoyingly we went to Holkham yesterday and was going to visit wells at same time but left baby’s milk at the caravan! For some reason it really bothers me if we don’t have fun on days I have had to plan the fun ha ha! On a positive note my 5 year old finally cracked swimming and to be honest that is all I wanted out the holiday ha ha! I’m done.. can I go home now?
