To make him use a different laundry bin?

DH has revolting feet. His socks reek. I can smell his feet across the room
He doesn’t wash them properly as he can’t reach due to back back
The socks pollute they entire laundry basket. So...AIBH to buy a separate (maybe wyth yellow and black hazard tape) laundry bin for his socks?

Sorry but if he isn’t washing because he can’t reach he needs to buy a loafer on a stick. That is gross

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 27/10/2019 21:22

If he's washing his feet daily & a shower counts his feet shouldn't smell.

As above does he have a medical problem or does he need new shoes?

dottycat123 · 27/10/2019 21:29

One of my ds has smelly feet. Soaking them in a bowl with biological washing powder helps but obviously they need between the toes washing and round the nails. If my dh genuinely couldn't do this himself I would do it for him.

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 27/10/2019 21:35

I feel mean now but I’m not washing them just yet. Loofah on a stick it is! And a trip to my chiropodist

I literally linked to one of those things up thread.

@DontLettuceBrexitLettuceRomain yes you should scrub your feet in the shower to ensure they’re clean.

Cherrysoup · 28/10/2019 10:18

Is he overweight? When I was, my feet STANK, I mean, they were revolting, even if I washed twice a day. Lost weight, problem disappeared. I don’t know if it was a coincidence, but now they’re totally odourless.

safariboot · 28/10/2019 10:29

What kind of shoes does he wear? Cheap synthetic shoes or boots don't breathe and can get very sweaty. Good quality leather is better, or sandals in summer. And especially in a physical job, wearing the same shoes every day can make them minging, better to have more pairs.

Peridot1 · 28/10/2019 10:32

He needs to not wear the same shoes every day. His shoes need to dry out between wears.

Buy him a plastic washing up bowl and he can soak and wash his feet in that every day. Add some tea tree oil.

cauliflowersqueeze · 28/10/2019 10:38

He needs professional help.

I’d bin the socks and shoes once he’s seen a chiropodist and been given a lot of foot medication and advice. Not normal.

goingdownsouth · 28/10/2019 10:43

Please buy him some hibiscrub.
It will kill all the bacteria.
Then new shoes.

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 28/10/2019 18:14

Ooh I like the idea of hibiscrub. It can double up as face wash for my teen!

britnay · 28/10/2019 18:35

ouch, I wouldn't recommend hibiscrub on the face, its very powerful

Whats the point in separate washing baskets? Im assuming all dirty washing goes in the same washing machine?

Also, probably help him with his feet. Otherwise you will always have this issue

GottaLoveAnOtter · 28/10/2019 19:03

When my DS had acne the Dr prescribed Hibiscrub for his face, it was fine and helped to clear it up.
