I'm sorry if there are threads already about this but just out of interest how much does your toddler weigh.

My youngest dd 2 and a half ( born in the march) is just over 25 pound, she is very lively and has so much energy and always on the move, she eats lots, but...she is very slim. She was 6lb 9oz born, she's not long had her check and she's running just under 25th centile. I do worry alot to be fair but she well and happy.

Mine was 11kg at 2 years 6 months, just below 75th centile for weight and about 96th centile for height

This thread has made me realise how chunky my baby is 😩 He was 21lb at his 19 week weigh in two weeks ago. He's five months next week. He's a back breaker!

Magicmama92 · 27/10/2019 18:36

You cant raly compare weight becouse they are all different shapes and sizes. As long as your little one is healthy gaining weight and growing and eating something I'd not worry. If you really are its worth talking to your health visitor to put your mind at ease though instead of worrying xx

Poppsmum · 27/10/2019 19:04

My little one is on the side of extremely and I mean extremely busy toddler never keeps still for a second and doesn't sleep much either, she weighs 2 stone and is really tall into 3-4 clothes. She should actually be underweight with the way she is!! But you can't judge what size they are meant to be compared to others as they are all so different.... Like us lol. They are what they are! If they are active and ok then don't think about it or worry either 😁

Poppsmum · 27/10/2019 19:05

She's also 2 and half!

Teateaandmoretea · 27/10/2019 19:58

I think the thing is poppsmum and also the OP dc have to be very very thin to actually be underweight. If they are active and very lean then they have more muscle and that is denser than fat anyway so they weigh more than you expect. Confused at the poster who reckoned she was under 4st at 4ft 11. My 10 year old who is really slight and has not an ounce of fat on her is 4ft 10 and 5st. I cannot imagine an inch taller and a stone less Shock. It's why if I'm ever worried I weigh her so I know the truth, stick her stats in the NHS child BMI calculator for reassurance because never ever has she actually been underweight Smile

My oldest is on the 5th percentile weight/height (so really slim), my youngest is on the 50th. even my youngest gets called skinny - to be honest, in the current environment any child that is not clearly overweight will be called skinny

Wattonearth · 27/10/2019 20:24

My DD is the same age as yours and weighs 23lb. We have the same problem with clothing- to fit in the leg they are massive around the waist! Can’t get any leggings to fit or pj’s they all fall down! As long as she progressing on the same percentile then that’s all that matters, there has to be some at the bottom of the charts.

Whatagreytdoggo · 27/10/2019 20:26

My 2yo is 84cm and 24lb.

HalyardHitch · 27/10/2019 20:32

@TokenGinger same weight as my 1y10m old! But he's massively diddy and dropping off the bottom of the charts nearly!! Grin

1y10m is 21lbs. 2nd centile for weight, 25th for height
2y10m is 27lbs. 25th for weight, 75th for height.

The younger one looks chunkier than his brother even though he's lower down the centiles

Mopmum35 · 27/10/2019 22:38

Thanks everyone, I understand what your saying, I shouldn't worry if she's healthy and happy ect, it's hard though sometimes 🙈 but I'm less worried nowSmile
@Poppsmum my dd is the same! If she not dancing and running about she trying to act like a kangaroo ( literally 🤣)just constant, so I shouldn't be surprised at how slim she is🤦‍♀️
@Wattonearth omg is a bit of a pain isnt it🤣 my dd's trousers often need a good hoist up a few times a day I tend to go for dungarees and tights as they fit better.

@Magicmama92 Thanks, dd had her 2 year development check ( which is at 28-30 months where I live) not long ago and they say she's absolutely fine which is great but the past week dd has been Ill and looked frail and it just worried me as she was off her food and wasnt up and about like she normally is, I just thought I hope she doesn't loose weight there is naff all to loose! 😬

Like a few of you you have/had babies that are at the top end ( my ds's were also) but they do come in all sizes 😁 big or small chunky or lean, I dont understand why I've worried so much as my nearly 10 year old was even smaller and she is fine 🤦‍♀️

But I feel assured now thanks for your responses Flowers

DS was 7lb at birth but shot up really fast, he's now 32lb at 2y 9m. He's 98cm tall so above average.

DD was prem so is only 7lb at 9 weeks old so is off the chart tiddly and will be comfortably in newborn clothes for a while yet!
