Do you think you have lost them outside the house or are you certain they are lost within the house?

Are they 'lookers' or 'see-ers'? What I mean is, do you need to wear them all the time for general seeing or just for looking closely at things/reading etc?

Morgan12 · 24/10/2019 21:32

They were definitely lost in the house. I only use them for watching tv really. It is possible that my 2 year old has hidden them somewhere. But I've checked all his usual hiding places and no luck yet.

Don’t give up, I nearly posted an identical thread earlier this evening. I gave up looking because I’d looked everywhere. And then I found them (on table outside bathroom).
Have a rest and then get a different perspective by walking around on your knees. That’s how I spotted mine, I walked up the stairs and before I reached the top I saw them because they were at eye level then.

upandawaytoday · 24/10/2019 21:34

They are on a pine bookcase - 2nd shelf down.

Idontwanttotalk · 24/10/2019 21:37

Have you looked in the oven?

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 24/10/2019 21:44

Have you checked your 2 year olds’ toys?

custardbear · 24/10/2019 21:48

Try the bin of the toddler has been near them!
Lost mine a few months ago, for nearly a week - found them behind the egg box on top of the microwave - I'd spent a week driving in sunglasses - that was fun at dusk!

Idontwanttotalk · 24/10/2019 21:48

Washing basket?

PhonicTheHedgehog · 24/10/2019 21:50

They are with towels, or small towels, maybe face cloths.

Wooooo

kieronsmum · 24/10/2019 21:51

so im not the only one wearing glasses while looking for them

Span1elsRock · 24/10/2019 21:53

I once lost my mobile phone and Raybans. Turned the house upside down, had to report phone as lost and replace with another. Then got out a jacket from my wardrobe about 5/6 months later and guess what was in the pocket............. I never hang jackets in my wardrobe, they go on the rail in the hallway but this time I did hang one up!

averylongtimeago · 24/10/2019 22:01

Two year old you say?
Get on your hands and knees and go round everything on their level.

They will have been posted:
DVD player
Dog bed
Inside a toy truck
In the fire
In the bin
In the Lego
Down the toilet
Wrapped up in blankie

Carolamc · 24/10/2019 22:02

My brother went bought half a dozen cheap pairs of specs (pound shop type) and dotted them round his house . He can always find one then.

SnorkMaiden81 · 24/10/2019 22:05

Passenger seat of the car.

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 24/10/2019 22:10

I need to find my passport if anyone has any bright ideas?!

DinosApple · 24/10/2019 22:12

I wear mine like a headband a lot of the time, then forget, stand up suddenly and they fall off into my coat hood for example... So in a coat hood?

OneTerrificMouse · 24/10/2019 22:13

aah you have a 2 year old...they will be tucked away safe somewhere. They will turn up 10 mins after your new ones arrive.

Down the side of a chair/sofa :)

SleepOhHowIMissYou · 24/10/2019 23:09

I second @Idontwanttotalk's washing basket.

EagleVisionSquirrelWork · 24/10/2019 23:42

When mine were toddlers, missing things below a certain size typically turned up inside the VCR, which I guess shows my age. Is there anywhere they could have been helpfully 'posted'?

JuneSpoon · 24/10/2019 23:43

Sofa. Under it or down between the cushions/down the back/the side

averylongtimeago · 25/10/2019 00:10

Zigzag re passport: I had put mine in "the drawer of many things " - it disappeared.
It had gone down over the back of the drawer and was in the very bottom of the chest - only found it whe I took all the drawers out as one was stuck.

velocitykate · 25/10/2019 00:22

I think glasses should be microchipped.....

I wear mine all day, every day and only take them off to go to bed (OK, maybe to wash my face, have a bath/shower but you get the picture). I still manage to lose them. I have fiund them in the following places:-

On my head
Wearing them
In my bed mixed up with the bedding (even down at the foot end)
In the bathroom (including inside the shower cubicle)
Under the bed
On the floor on the opposite side of the bed to where I sleep???
Downstairs
In one of my children's rooms (and not just if they are awake in the night)
In the car
I also once left them at my parents house

The moral of the story? Always have a spare pair, particularly since nowhere makes them on site any more and even singe vision lenses can take two weeks or more to be ready

HoldMyLobster · 25/10/2019 00:43

I've given up looking for my lovely recently purchased expensive glasses.

I've ordered a new pair.

The other pair will now turn up.
