Any ideas much appreciated. Nothing else from same load has them. Can I get rid of them?

TIA!

Looks like mould, was it damp and left waiting before washing?

Livingmagicallyagain · 24/10/2019 11:46

No. Nothing else affected either. Strange!

That's mould Sad Bleach gently dabbed should remove it, but may also take out the print.

Tractorgirlz · 24/10/2019 11:47

That happened to us when I forgot about a wee covered baby grow in a nappy bag for too long. I changed DS and put the wet baby grow inside a nappy bag and into his change bag. I came to it 3 days later and it had gone mouldy! Completely forgot I’d left it in there! You can’t get it out, you’ll have to throw it.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 24/10/2019 11:48

It could be oil from the bearings. I have had it on a previous machine.

(Replacing the bearings isn't a hard job, its just fiddly and takes a couple of hours labour. I did it with another person and YouTube to help. Cost £30 for the parts.)

DinoSn0re · 24/10/2019 11:52

Yeah, that’s mould. There is some powder stuff you can get from wilkos, think it’s called Dr Beckmann’s, it lifted some mould stains from a babygrow for me.

Livingmagicallyagain · 24/10/2019 12:06

Thanks all! Machine brand new (we just moved house) and it’s a good one so hope not that.

I’d say mould then...

Banana?

Saisong · 24/10/2019 12:09

Weaning age child? Banana and pear both leave stains, even after washing

dementedpixie · 24/10/2019 12:12

I'd say maybe banana too

Damntheman · 24/10/2019 12:17

Could be from overloading the machine if you had too much in the drum. I'd try running it again on its own.

holidayhelpp · 24/10/2019 12:19

1000% mould

hedgehoglurker · 24/10/2019 12:23

Mould

Livingmagicallyagain · 24/10/2019 13:13

I’d say mould though it was only one affected, probably mashed banana! Machine wasn’t overloaded.

Is it definitely not salvageable?

Banana stains must be a common problem as googling throws up lots of things to try

dementedpixie · 24/10/2019 13:18

A few mumsnet posts also pop up

happyasasandboy · 24/10/2019 13:20

If it mould, or banana, then soaking in Violet's mineral bleach will get it out without bleaching the coloured pattern.

Violets is the only thing I've ever managed to successfully remove mould with. It's expensive to buy, but rescues enough items to earn its investment back!

ViciousJackdaw · 24/10/2019 15:48

Has the washing been on the line outside? They could be the marks from where spiders have rubbed their willies against it.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 24/10/2019 15:54

If you think that is bad, check what banana does to a baby’s poo. I thought they had a weird parasitic disease.

You can get mould if milk has spilt and you wash at a lower temperature or with non-bio. If it happens again either was at 60 or above or use laundry disinfectant.

Livingmagicallyagain · 24/10/2019 19:19

Thank you all! Possibly milk either. Baby is 2, first time I’ve had this!

No line outside so definitely not spiders me willies Grin

*spiders’ willies!
