To Think DB's Dog Is Actually A Hell Hound?

Because apparently, it's not enough for me to be allergic to her. Over the past four months, she has.

  1. Knocked coffee over my laptop. Said coffee was on the dining table, and the dumb dog decided that she was going to stick her nose in the mug. (She's a chocolate lab, and a walking stereotype for the breed).
  1. Knocked me over whilst I was sat on the sofa and drooled down my ear. Despite my attempts to clean my ear, I ended up with a middle ear infection and lost my hearing for two weeks.
  1. Today, I was playing with DN, when he dropped a piece of lego. Said dog swept in to eat it, and when I got there first, jumped at me, her paw going straight into my eye. I've ended up with a corneal abrasion.

WIBU to hire an exorcist to send her back to the fiery pits from whence she came?

On a more serious note, WIBU to suspect she can sense my allergy to her, and is additionally boisterous as a reaction to that? Because DSiL keeps insisting she's not as bad as this with anyone else. Which is a great comfort when you've got a cold compress over your eye...

Yep, long dog walk at the beginning of babysitting is a good idea. And you could try to practice some basic training with the kids during babysitting too. (Obviously it's not your responsibility, but it might help the dog focus his attention on doing what you say.)

Haha this made me smile. I think she senses you don't like her and is just trying to make friends with you OP. Labradors are the best Smile

Does your brother resemble Crowley? If so, there is a good possibility it is.

I think your son might be a hell owner! Tell him to train his dog.

DB, pugparty, not DS Grin And Sisters... Depends which one we're referring to.

@LochJessMonster, you'd think on the dining table would be out of reach. HellHound was blessed with DSiL's height...

Aprilly, I think that's it. Definitely it.

Re the training, does anyone have any good sources for complete beginners, please? I'm not a dog owner myself. It'll be like the blind leading the blind.

Re walking her, I do face a problem doing so whilst babysitting, as DN1 is autistic and prone to meltdowns as soon as his parents leave. He's also v prone to running off and has pathological demand avoidance, so walking her and keeping him safe would be a logistical nightmare. Although I might suggest DB walks her before I get there or before he leaves in future, to see if it makes a difference.

Thanks again, everyone.
