I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl Helena today. First started trying in September 2016 and suffered three miscarriages since then. Almost gave up trying at the start of this year but got my BFP in February and today she is finally here! DH and I are over the moon to be parents at last, and I don't even care that I had an awful 26 hour labour followed by an unplanned C section because I AM A MUM!! Here is my amazing little girl!

I gave birth this month to my first after five years trying, failed clomid cycles and finally successful IVF ... YANBU

EverythingHappensForARiesling · 23/10/2019 02:58

Congratulations! Welcome to the world, Helena.

Zoflorabore · 23/10/2019 03:12

Congrats op :) your little girl is adorable.

It’s lovely to read that your post is also giving hope to those posters who are struggling to conceive.
I had a tough time getting pg due to polycystic ovaries and it seemed that everyone else could get pregnant and I was some sort of “failure” and it’s nice to see the lovely, supportive comments on AIBU!

I now have 2 who are 8 and 16 and those newborn moments are a distant memory. Enjoy every single second Flowers

Huge congratulations!! I remember that amazing feeling so well (3 years later and to be honest it still hasn’t gone away!), enjoy this exhausting but amazing time x

Secretlifeofme · 23/10/2019 03:25

Awww @wheresthehope your little boy is gorgeous! Congrats to you. Also sending love and positive thoughts to those who are still struggling to achieve their baby dream. It's really kind of you to be so supportive on a thread like this, because I know how hard it is to see others with their babies when you don't have that Flowers

Here is another quick pic of my adorable little Helena Grin

Aw secretlifeofme what a little beauty, love that look of being fill up of milk and fast asleep! Congratulations and enjoy this time with your little one!
I’m heading into the third trimester of a much wanted pg following a previous loss at term. Feeling very grateful for this second chance (and also might be quite full of hormones that make me love seeing cute newborn babies!!) so thanks for sharing your exciting news here and cheering up a sleepless night with a big cold!!
All the best CakeFlowers

What a gorgeous little love. Congratulations!!! Enjoy every minute ❤️

It took me three years and three miscarriages before I had my wee boy. He’s 2 and a half now and the light of our lives!

pollywobble · 23/10/2019 04:35

Aw, congratulations, she's gorgeous!
Is she Helen-a or Hel-ay-na?

Is she Helen-a or Hel-ay-na?

I have literally never heard anyone pronounce Helena “Hel-ay-na”!

Congrats OP, she’s gorgeous!

pollywobble · 23/10/2019 10:32

@Apples78 I heard it recently in Tate Modern - I've never heard it in the Black Country!
Beautiful OP

Triskaidekaphilia · 23/10/2019 10:55

YANBU at all! I still feel the same about my baby girl who's 11 weeks now Smile With us it took 18 months to concieve her, like you a 26 hour labour with 3rd degree tear and a lot of blood loss but I feel so lucky to have her every day Smile Congratulations! Grin

Whattodoabout · 23/10/2019 10:57

Beautiful, gorgeous name too. Congratulations, my DS is about to turn one and I also suffered three miscarriages before he was born. It makes you even more grateful for them I think.

ArthurEyeTits · 23/10/2019 11:02

Ah, isn't she just adorable - you've only gone and done it!
Congrats mum and dad. Flowers
Woo-hoo, jackpot!

Disfordarkchocolate · 23/10/2019 12:18

I would say Hel-ay- an; unless the OP corrected me.

Such lovely new baby pictures here. Doesn't it just warm your heart and put the rest of life in perspective Smile

LaurieMarlow · 23/10/2019 12:33

Aw gorgeous. Well done OP Smile

Hel-ay-na is the more common pronunciation in NI. I prefer Helen-a though.

emmetgirl · 24/10/2019 17:58

@2018SoFarSoGreat I thought they were flowers 😊
