I’ve been in an unhappy relationship for so long we have a toddler which is making me feel massively guilty about ending things but I don’t think I can carry on like this , please give me a kick up the arse

What do you want your life to be like next Christmas? What do you want your toddler to learn from you about relationships?

Title was meant to read “to ask you to tell me about regretting staying” I am not drinking honest Grin

I wish I had left before DS1 was born. It's been so much better since we left. Been ten years this December :)

@hormonesorDHbeingadick Good food for thought I want to be happy next Christmas for once , xmas always heightens how unhappy I am currently past few years

@BertieBotts that’s what I wish too , how old were the children when you separated and how long did it take to feel “normal”

Mine was 18 months and im defo happier. I was getting depressed being in a failing relationship

DS was just 1. About the age DS2 is now. I'll be honest it took a while, I had to learn how to feel emotions again which was really weird! But I was happier and felt more free immediately.

Not separated myself.

But my parents separated and my sister and I really, really wish they'd separated years before they did.

Your DC is a reason for leaving, not a reason for staying.
