Really concerned about breast pain

Posting here for traffic

My boobs are so sore nearly all the time. There’s no pattern so not to do with periods, but they are agony. They feel so painful to touch and really heavy and sometimes hot to touch. What could this be? Should I worry?

Go to your GP. It’s probably fine, but it’s worth asking the question.

Toffeecakes · 20/10/2019 22:31

I’m not a dr, but if you’re not pregnant then I’d be thinking either hormone issue or an infection. I wouldn’t panic but I’d get checked out by a dr at the next opportunity. Do you feel unwell or is your temperature high?

watermelon21 · 20/10/2019 22:35

Hi thanks for the quick responses @PotteringAlong and @toffeecakes ! No I don’t feel unwell really. Only thing I’d say is that I’m very tired all the time as well. I know it sounds daft but I’m quite worried, I just can’t get a gp appointment at the minute as I’m at uni away from home and can’t change my gp right now for a long story of reasons so I’ve no idea who I can go to?

You can go to a GP as a temporary patient?

watermelon21 · 20/10/2019 22:41

@potteringalong oh really? I had no idea. I’ll look into that then thank you!

How old are you?

It's unlikely to be anything sinister. I have suffered with mastalgia since teens and it can be agonising Thanks

RosieLynn · 20/10/2019 22:43

You need to register temporarily at a local GP practice.

If you cannot find one that is accepting temporary patients, then you will need to register permanently. You can always reregister at your original surgery when you move home.

watermelon21 · 20/10/2019 22:45

@RandomMess I’m just 21 so I know it’s young to be worrying but it just seems so new, Like I’ve never had feeling in them really. They’ve just kind of been there, never had pain or sensitivity etc and now they’re agonising.

Is there anything that helps when you’ve had it?

@RosieLynn I’ll definitely look into it! I had no idea it was a thing, I hope I can find one!

Call your local practice tomorrow, ask and let us know Flowers

ActualHornist · 20/10/2019 23:39

Did your uni not advise you how to register at the GP? I know mine did, although it was a long time ago so I can’t quite remember.
