Hi

I'm suffering with plantar fasciitis I have been taken gabapentin for the pain which doesn't make the slightest difference and have finally been referred to the hospital. But I'm sat here in pain again wondering what they can actually do. Sometimes the pain is so severe I cannot put my foot on the floor and me knees and ankles are suffering now too

You have my sympathy it’s awful.

They gave me steroid injection in mine, first one didn’t work, second one was done via ultrasound and haven’t been back since that was 18 months ago.

Physio can do ultrasound and stretches, they can inject them but that carries risks. Used to be injected all the time but evidence showed risks usually outweighed benefit so now tends to be a last resort but it does sometimes work.

Have you been referred for physio? That really helped me.

In the meantime if the pain is bad get a cylindrical 500 ml water bottle, fill it with water and freeze it. Roll it under your foot.

My issue was always linked to tight calves and Achilles
