Husband messages friend ‘Hey Beautiful... ‘ but not me!

This isn’t a recent one. I’ve just been to counseling and have realized that some things my husband has done, perhaps he still does, really bother me!

One of them is last year, I saw his messages to his woman friend, and they were very warm and affectionate, with things like
Hey Beautiful
And a kiss stuff like that.

Now I actually know this woman, and she is quite beautiful! She’s also lovely and I’d never think they had anything going on.

However for ages I’ve felt like DH has me as second best to other women he admires and has crushes on. He has never sent me a text saying hey beautiful. All the kisses stopped after I moved in with him.

Also, I know I’m not as well turned out as these women friends he likes. He still has them. They are stunning. I’m okay, don’t get me wrong no major hang ups, but I’m like a daisy to their rose.

I’d like to kind of challenge DH as counseling has made me feel sad about these. But I know he won’t get it. And I know he’ll just hide messages anyway.

I would think it was v inappropriate if a married man texted me saying 'hi beautiful' or whatever. It's not necessary in a friendship. It sounds like he was possibly testing the waters to see if flirty interaction could be on the cards.

Do you trust him?

Don’t trust him - in a loyalty sense. Don’t trust not to make another woman feel that she’s possibly more special than me. That hurts me a lot.

I think a good partner makes you feel better about yourself, at least your good points.
A friend of mine was extremely timid when she got married and blossomed. She now has lots of self-confidence. A bad partner chips away at your self-esteem.

Yabu to consider spending £900 on a washing machine.

I highly recommend John Lewis own brand washing machine which also comes with 3year guarantee for the price.

OP,

I don't like the sound of your husband at all.

His behaviour is inappropriate.

He is creepy.

I would question his commitment.

I hope you are financially protected, because I wouldn't trust him.

Sorry for your obvious pain.
You deserve so much better. He's not it.

Hi op. I don't accept 'she is lovely as well as beautiful'. She is accepting these texts from your husband instead of questioning his loyalty to you. She may well being lovely as a result of feeling guilty!!!!!

Longlongsummer · 20/10/2019 19:59

@ISawyouinTescoyesterday that is a good point. I remember clearly when he told her I was pregnant she wasn’t that happy!

@billy1966 it is creepy isn’t it? Makes me feel - yuk! And just not the man I guess I want him to be, he’s stylish, humble, affectionate and kind. Well that’s what I thought and how he appeared for many months.
