Apologies for it not being an AIBU really!
Was flicking through Netflix tonight with my 10yr old and was trying to think of films I loved as a child. I'm an 80's kid (born 82) so already showed her Annie, Goonies, Adventures in Babysitting, Gremlins, Home Alone etc... anything else?

Oh my god yes Curly Sue! Can't understand why you can't get hold of it! I would so get it

maddiemookins16mum · 19/10/2019 17:33

Oooh yes the Megan Fallows AOGG - it was utterly wonderful (the bit where Matthew dies in the field is sooooo sad). Plus until this day I want to visit PEI. DD loves it too, it’s our go to DVD/box set for poorly on the sofa days.

Into The West about the irish boys and a magical horse is in the top ten of my favourite films ever!
Chitty, Chitty, Bang Bang
Willow
The Princess Bride
The Amazing Mr Blunden with Diana Dors playing against type is a lovely film.
The Railway Children

Ooh great thread! Agree with all the others, especially My Girl, Now and Then, Labyrinth, Free Willy, etc. Don’t think think these have been mentioned:

American Tail
All dogs go to heaven
Time bandits
Bill and ted (we liked bogus journey best!)
Jurassic park
Richie rich
Monkey trouble
Once upon a forest
The rescuers + down under
The page master
The last unicorn

Feeling all nostalgic now and wanting DD to grow up faster so we can pack in bloody Little Baby Bum watch these.

Top choices for me would be Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (first film I ever saw at the cinema when it was quite recent and I thought it was all so wonderful that when it was time to go I threw the biggest tantrum I ever threw as a child) and The Railway Children - one of the few films that make me cry - "Daddy, my Daddy!"
