We just found a mouse in the hallway.

Brain of Britain there decided to try to herd it towards the front door, I said "close the living room door first", but oh no, and, of course, the mouse legged it into the living room instead of going outside.

This has nothing to do with my AIBU, I just wanted to say

PRAT

But I digress.

So. Mouse is in living room. Currently uncatchable. We now have to go and buy one of those green mousecatchers, to get mouse for later release a billion miles away

In the meantime.

Feeling sorry for it.

I fed it.

AIBU?

Or insane, or any of dh's rather choice words?

Feeding it is pretty bonkers! kindly, but bonkes A three course meal is a totally insane though! Have you thought what you will give it to drink? a nice glass of Pinot Grigio perhaps??

EmilyDavidson · 15/08/2007 14:22

mice are homing creatures , i think you have to release it over 5 miles away.

Upsidedowncake · 15/08/2007 14:25

Three blind mice, three blind nice
See how they run, see how they run
They all ran after mytwopenceworth
Who fed them fine food to increase their girth
Three blind mice

The original is really quite un-PC nowadays, isn't it? Do they sing it any more?

SB i was an adult

MyTwopenceworth · 15/08/2007 17:37

I've bought my trap and shall no doubt be catching Squeak (yes, ok, I named my mouse. ) and releasing him far, far away.

He's had a little nibble at his dinner from what I can see. Probably gone for a lie down now

Cat is underwhelmed.

I didn't think of water, Mare and I'm too scared to suggest it to dh . I got enough stick for shoving dinner under the sofa, if I go there with a bowl of water dh will never shut up about it.

Maybe he'll drink from the cat bowl.

You can have my cat if you want - she can catch mice ok - but she tends to bring them in rather than get them out. One was sucked up the hoover so that was the end of that .

LazyLineLegilimens · 15/08/2007 20:25

My cats bring in mice as well. They escape down a little hole beneath the floorboards. Have never seen them back up, the cats wait for them so think that they are too scared

McEdam · 15/08/2007 20:28

You daft but lovely mare, you.

PMSL at mouse-led weaning.

rofl.

Am usually with you M2PW, but I agree with dh with the bonkers bit this time, sorry.

Friends have a mouse.

Nothing so far has worked.

It's had three lots of poison.

It keeps coming back for more.

mare · 16/08/2007 13:39

We live in one end of a big old Golf Clubhouse. Three other families in rest of it. Old building - used to be one, now separate but still loads of interlinking wall spaces etc. One neighbour Left poison down in hidden places for the bloody mice. The next door neighbour then found it in kis kids toy cupboard! The mice had moved it!!

My point is be careful with mouse poison if you have kids, which seeing as where we are, I assume you all do - it moves!

Found mouse dying in the garden - presumably poisoned - felt so sorry for it I nearly took it to the vet!

MyTwopenceworth · 19/08/2007 20:05

DON'T READ ON IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE

DON'T

JUST DON'T

I WILL NOT BE BLAMED

In case you were wondering

And I appreciate that you probably weren't

Mouse is gone.

But not via the trap.

And I'm traumatised

It wouldn't go near the trap and dh cornered it and bashed it to death. It was doing little death leaps of agony. It was horrible. And there's blood on my wall. And I feel sick. And guilty.
