Husband found a lump

... to be crude, in my vaginal wall, during sex.

He was pretty sure he could feel it and said it was quite hard, but I’ve checked and found nothing. Booked a GP appt to get checked out just in case but a female GP isn’t available for 10 days.

AIBU to wait for this appt rather than book an emergency appt, for the reasons that I’m not particularly comfortable with a male GP checking it?

Have you got a local sexual health clinic? They sometimes have walk in clinics.

I don't understand the whole not wanting to see a male GP thing (a GP is a GP), but each to their own and all that (and maybe you have some past trauma, in which case I can totaly understand).
Having said that, I would be seeing anyone I could as fast as I could if I had a lump inside me.

I had one years ago soon after childbirth abs for some months, and it was just a cyst. Always get lumps checked though, wherever they are. Your health is the most important thing here.

Personally I'd get an appt ASAP, I'd ignore the fact it is a male GP as there will be a female in the room too. But I just like to get stuff done and out of the way.

But if the idea makes you that uncomfortable wait it out, if you can't feel anything it could have been a cyst that only presents when you are aroused.

Most male gp's will ask for a woman from the surgery to be present during an intimate examination, at least in my experience

ThreeLittleDots · 16/10/2019 12:06

Where was it? Is he aware of what your cervix feels like - could it have been that?

Abstractedobstructed · 16/10/2019 12:10

Rectocele? When the rectum is full is can bulge into the vagina and feel like a hardish swelling?

Newbie1999 · 16/10/2019 12:19

He said it was towards the back end, and I can’t feel it now at all, so I’m thinking rectocele too. However now thinking I just need to bite the bullet and get the emergency appt.

Thanks all
