AIBU to think if all the worse predictions about a no deal Brexit come true, leading Brexiteers will think it's hilarious?

Can't help feeling it's just a massive joke for them. If the auto industry packs up and moves it's no skin off their nose. Enormous disruption at Dover, or in Scotland makes for great dinner party antidotes about the chaos they caused. Dominic Rabb just said it's all really exciting, we know Dominic Cummings has said they're loving this. It just seems like a huge laugh for them.

Clavinova.
There are emerging markets and emerging markets. You can quote book definitions at me all day long but right now in addition to lead finance and economics professionals there are also emerging market funds who have U.K. companies as part of their top holdings.

Check out this Canadian emerging markets investment fund redwood....which has HSBC as a top holding. Oh, and doesn’t HSBC underwrite U.K. employers private medical insurance plans? As in private healthcare insurance in the U.K.?

@Clavinova
Their balance of payments is terrible; their government debt is terrible; their fiscal debt is terrible,” said Mr Mobius I quoted and you wrote:

“We can't be doing that badly -

"Britain’s contribution to the EU has shot up by £2.6 billion in the past 12 months, new Treasury figures show, as the UK’s growing economy was used to prop up Brussels’ budget." “

Er, you do realise that the EU membership fee has nothing at all to do with balance of payments, government debt or fiscal debt? Your response is like me saying Clavinova your credit card debt is terrible and you responding that you can’t be doing that badly because you just paid an eye popping £50k for a Land Rover.

I agree OP. There was also Priti Patel looking very happy about taking away our FOM. But what's more terrifying is that so many people would still vote for them. It's what the people want apparently Confused. I hate being English right now.

FleurDuMal · 13/10/2019 21:43

I think you're right. They're all completely detached from ordinary people

David Schneider just tweeted this. Seems he agrees with me.

Priti Patel smirking as Andrew Marr reads out a list of industries terrified by the government’s plan is Brexit in a nutshell. They don’t give a shit. #marr

Finally, yes the trade minister responded that the NHS if off the table and won’t be privatized in any future FTA (although CPTPP is an existing TA, not a future FTA.)
But my point is that this is counter to what ERG & Rees Mogg were pushing to Theresa May. Their white papers all propose Brexit solutions that have privatizing the NHS hidden in them imho.
Too, the Trade minister who wrote that response was Rona Fairhead- Theresa May’s pick, and has since left the post for Boris Johnson’s pick of Liam Fox. So that statement is de facto passé and you will have to see what the Fox thinks now....🦊🐥

raskolnikova · 13/10/2019 21:49

I saw her on Andrew Marr too. Why are these people allowed to have any power and control?! How has it come to this?

DoctorAllcome · 13/10/2019 21:59

Priti Patel...didn’t she lobby for big tobacco? If she was happy letting people die from cancer sticks it’s probably nothing to her to crack a smile over Brexit.

I can see from your link that HSBC represents 3.77% of the fund.

Somewhat amusing that Redwood have a "Marijuana Opportunities Fund."
Are you an investor? Because I have no idea what you are on about. Grin

YANBU. I've had plenty of Brexiters laugh at me for being worried about not being able to get hold of meds. They just go 'lol Project Fear' or whatever. It's just a joke to them, and disabled/chronically ill people don't matter.
