AIBU to toss the bacon out?!

Hey everyone. Honest query here about a general knowledge I do not possess; Bacon lifespan. This has been in my fridge since end of May (I assume), and never opened/used; I don't know why to be honest. It may be because it was hidden under a bag of grated cheese.
I saw it today while tidying up the fridge for a new load of shopping and have no idea if it is safe to eat or not. It looks fine, but the use by date is 25th June. I have a useless sense of smell, so sniffing it won't help. I dont like wasting food, but dont want to give my family food poisoning either. 4 months past its use by date is a lot, considering this a perishable which was refrigerated and not frozen. Am I being unreasonable to just throw it out for the sake of safety?!

id eat it. It looks fine. Gone off bacon looks different to that, and goes green/grey.
Most bacon has so much salt in it, it stays preserved.
Do the sniff test ofc

I never really look at Use by dates as I buy from the butchers and there's no dates on any of the meat I buy but not sure I could bring myself to eat bacon that's that old!
It does look fine though.

I would err on the side of caution TBH. 4 months old is a risk too far IMO! If anyone was ill you feel very guilty and also worry ! .Try to have a root round the fridge if you can most weeks (Surprising what is lurking there!)

Omg - of course you should throw it out! It’s MONTHS out of date and it’s pork so you could get seriously ill! Saying that as someone who always eats out of date food!
