After the awful events today, to worry that we have no way of avoiding no deal.

But I really hope I am wrong Sad.

Unbelievable.

Even with an extension, which the Tories will do whatever they can to avoid, the next thing will be an election in which they will campaign on a no deal ticket - who will win that election in your opinion?

NewNameGuy, Merkel is acting correctly in protecting the interests of Germany and the EU. She has no interest in doing what the UK demand. Why should she?

I think it will be a hung parliament. So yes no deal will be avoided.

I'm not sure how much of the population is now leave versus stay. But I'd put good money on it not being the majority who want no deal. As such if Boris campaigns on this I don't think he can win a majority.

Which gives us a hung parliament. And where we are today.

UnoriginalUserName948 · 08/10/2019 22:28

I don't know. There is a very vocal subset who want no deal. There are those who vote whichever way the daily mail says to. There are the True Blue Tories who wouldn't dream of voting for anyone else. There are probably people who think Boris is great.
Labour should be mopping up votes and are not.
It's impossible to predict what would happen. A GE could be very dangerous.

UnoriginalUserName948 · 08/10/2019 22:29

votes= support, obviously, as nobody is voting for anybody atm.

I agree. I think if somebody other than Corbyn was in charge they would be.
