Sorry posting here for traffic.
Generally I don’t police other SM users. However I am really concerned about the posts an 11 yr old girl, I know in RL , is posting on Instagramon her public account. Quite suggestive pictures: pouting into camera. Dancing showing knickers. Miming songs in a suggestive way. Overall makes me feel quite uncomfortable looking at them , knowing she is so young. I have already approached her mum but her account is still up ( with loads of followers) several weeks later and posts remain and similar continue to be posted. Now some with her in her wearing identifiable school uniform. No other parent on the scene.
So thinking the only thing to do is report because she is under age for instagram . However I can’t as I don’t know her actual date of birth. Any thoughts? especially anyone more SM savvy than I am.
Not sure going back to mum will have much effect TBH.

Several 11 year olds I know do this too. It’s grim.

You can report the posts as inappropriate. Click on the three dots in the top right corner.

I looked at the reporting button but none of the reasons really fit and the one which is “don’t like the post” only allows me to block her account which won’t solve the issue.

Do you know the year of birth for the child?

If so, use the report form:

Or flag it up with the school and they should take action.

Contact the safeguarding lead at her school and express your concerns.

Pierrettelasanguinaire · 07/10/2019 18:09

Or just MYOB?

Motherinlawsdung · 07/10/2019 18:18

Pierrette don’t be ridiculous - MYOB when it’s an obvious child protection issue?

MelonSlice · 07/10/2019 18:23

Do you need to know her actual date of birth though? You know roughly what year she would have been born in. What's the worst that can happen if you make up the day/month?
