To ask a stupid question about the dentist?

Feel really stupid asking this question, but I've only ever gone to the dentist for check ups and treatment when necessary.
My dd had braces a couple of months ago and although we're trying really hard with cleaning, I'm worried her front bottom teeth are looking a bit stained/dirty.
Can I make her a dentist appointment just to get them cleaned, or do I have to wait for our next check up?

Absolutely make an appointment. It's just good to get advice and guidance, especially if the check-up isn't for a while. I'm not sure about cleaning though, tbh. Call and ask if the hygenist can help.
Can I also recommend the use of a waterpik at home? I had braces as a teen and I still swear it was the waterpik that gave me the smile I ended up with. It was fantastic for cleaning the braces and flushing the grime and build-up out of the tricky spaces between.
An appointment will help your DD remember how to brush (at an angle). Nothing wrong with a refresher from the dentist. And when we're young, it's easy to just forget how we've been told to look after our braces/teeth.

Thankyou TheVan, she's only 10 and struggles with cleaning. I'm helping her as much as I can but she has such a little mouth it's sometimes hard for me to see everywhere!
