To ask for your cough cures?

Third night of coughing and the last two I've had very little sleep.
I've got a steam inhaler thing that soothes temporarily but not for long enough to make a difference, I've taken pholcodiene linctus, had a hot toddy. Vicks on feet doesn't work. I really need some sleep tonight, my lungs feel red raw. Any remedies I might not have thought of?

With the residual cough that is, not as a cure clearly!

Ooh... cherry juice. I like the sound of that one.

As to pholcodeine, a gp once told me that it’s great for coughs but the over-the-counter versions don’t contain enough of the substance to have any effect. ( But he wouldn’t prescribe an under-the-counter version!)
My DP once had a very annoying cough that just wouldn’t shift. His gp prescribed sleeping tablets for a few days to help the body to ‘forget’ to cough as sometimes the body just carries on coughing even though the virus has gone and the chest is clear.
Absinthe maybe?

Over the counter pulmo-bailley that stuff is totally rank but stops a cough dead. I think the smell/taste simply scares the cough off grin

This was the best cough medicine ever and as you say stopped the cough immediately.
Unfortunately it’s no longer manufactured and there’s nothing similar as far as I know.
