AIBU to not go to church because it's raining?

Just that really. It's pouring. The church is a 10 minute walk from parking (we leave the few spaces at the church for the elderly).
DD and me would rather snuggle on the sofa.
To avoid a drip feed, I'm chaplain/pastor/insert any denominational variation here and it's harvest lunch...

@mostlydrinkstea this is the downside to rural ministry. But we have great country walks which evens it out.
@LaMarschallin hope your migraine is better, that sounds miserable. No worries about being a bit cynical, I am too sometimes!
Whoever asked about what happens when we are sick (of course I'd never actually not turn up for work just because it's raining), that's when we phone the retired clergy and lay workers in the area and ask for help.

mostlydrinkstea vicarages with paddocks are out there - one of my school friends lived in a vicarage with enough space to keep sheep, so I'm guessing a horse would also have been possible.

What I don't get from your OP is if you have to go as in you're leading the service/harvest lunch. If so then go and if not up to you. As for 10 min in the rain - it's not that bad - just wear wellies and take an umbrella.

We went to mass last night, as I am helping out with the first communion classes. We had permission to arrive a little late (DD has already taken first communion).

I was happy to go, and sat with a young lady with additional needs, who is very affectionate. I got kisses and cuddles just for being there.

I have to miss the next couple of weeks, due to other commitments.

I hope you did go, rain isn't a good enough reason not to. It often rains! You can use an umbrella surely.

The rain had eased off for us by the time we went but it caught us on the way back. A few folk at church had said they were in two minds about going today but then we can watch online.
