AIBU to go to a photo shoot rather than see PIL?

So DD is a few days old and I responded to a call out for babies to take part in a shoot (photographer training others) and as a thank you all photos are free. DD and one other replied quickly enough to get the slots.

However, PIL and coming to visit for 2 days, 3 nights from abroad and this would be 1 morning away. We have an older DD so they would spend time with her and DH while I went.

My doubts are that it would be an hour’s drive each way (I would stop part way to feed) and the photos are the naked baby/ curled up in blanket etc. Which isn’t 100% my style.

But we didn’t have any professional shots with DD1 and this is likely our last baby.

So AIBU to go? Or do I let someone else have the opportunity?

I would be suspicious why would a professional work for free?

aw we did this when ds2 (now 5) was little. it was a big photographer who trained others and people put forward their venue and she chose ones she liked to go to. other photographers then come and pay to be taught. it wasnt a scam with us, I have the photos on the wall now and i love them. they email them to you after once they are all edited etc and there was no hard sell as they were all free so nothing to sell. I would say go, it was really interesting to watch

Whilst there are scams out there I've done shoots with the same set up your going to here.... Go enjoy it get the pics of your baby... You won't regret them in the long run... And you can send them the pics to keep of your baby too

I do t think you should go.. they are only here for 3 days, it’s not that long really. Or ask mil to come along with you
