And was it any good? We have cream carpets upstairs and they are looking grubby. I was thinking of popping down to the supermarket to hire one but thought I would shamelessly post for traffic here to ask the great posters of MN if they’re any good?

Just remembered buying out first hoover wet and dry because DD1 was such a sicky baby. When the GP asked whether it was just after feeds, I told him it was before, after, during and between feeds! Honestly, it was like living in a pigeon loft. We had lovely carpets, too.

I've only had the professionals in once and it was a disaster; they left the carpets sopping wet and in a couple of days they were smelly. We made them come back and sort it, but I'd never risk it again.

We own one - as have cream carpets, dogs and two young children, it’s really good.m if you make sure you get the right measurements re detergent and water etc.

I think there great I use them everyday at work. I am guilty of not going over the carpet enough and sucking the water back up which does cause marks when moving furniture back etc. I don't think it's worth buying the shampoo they recommended either as you only need a small amount and it's a waste of money.
