Hi all,
My uncle recently bought my grandparents vitamins and I saw the box of my Gran’s vitamins out of the corner of my eye, but thought it was vaginal lubricant. So I whispered to my gran (in the busy kitchenette) “oh my god, I thought your vitamins was vaginal lubricant” (we have that sort of relationship where we can talk about things like that). And my grandad said loudly “it’s bad manners to whisper” so my gran shouted (in the kitchenette with my cousin, auntie, mum and gran and grandad, and my much younger brother and cousin in the living room, which is open plan from the kitchenette!) “don’t be so bloody nosey... noseynails thought my vitamins was vaginal lubricant and was trying to spare you all!” Then she muttered “nosey pig”. I was affronted!! I could have crawled up my own arse! Do you have any stories to share to console me?

Tonnerre · 05/10/2019 12:49

You thought your uncle had bought his mother vaginal lubricant?

Pull the other one.

Boireannachlaidir · 05/10/2019 12:49

My sides etc Hmm

MissSingerbrains · 05/10/2019 12:51

How does lubricant look like vitamins?

BlueLines · 05/10/2019 12:52

YABU a bit

Weedinosaurus · 05/10/2019 12:53

@Boireannachlaidir did you almost spit out your tea? Wink

VladmirsPoutine · 05/10/2019 12:55

Don't want to be po-faced but this is most likely one of those 'had to be there' to appreciate the moment kind of stories. Sorry OP - seems you hit a flat note.

Noseynails · 05/10/2019 13:01

No, I didn’t think he had bought it, I thought her vitamins were in her handbag and that there was a box of lubricant in the kitchenette

One of my housemates became very ill (hospital etc) and had to move out. Her very posh, lovely dad came to pack up her stuff. He was merrily chatting away to me while going through wardrobes and stuff, opened a drawer, then suddenly slammed it shut, stood bolt up right and looked at me in horror.

Keep 'em coming, folks! love these threads.

BenWillbondsPants · 05/10/2019 13:33

I'm pretty aghast to be honest, but for completely different reasons.

Silvercatowner · 05/10/2019 13:38

Good grief - with this and the "still got it babe" being bought drinks thread, Mumsnet seems to be lurching towards the depths.

mypuddin · 05/10/2019 13:39

Bloody hell there are some miserable fuckers on MN! Op just wanted to share a funny story!

YANBU op GrinGrinGrin

Boireannachlaidir · 05/10/2019 14:00

@Weedinosaurus oh yeah, that too! Wink

I do think the use of 'kitchenette' warrants a few points anyway. So that's something.

boredboredboredboredbored · 05/10/2019 14:18

Well i thought it was funny op!

Jux · 05/10/2019 15:10

Someone hasn't got a dictionary.

Ginger1982 · 05/10/2019 15:24

Are you Scottish OP? Up here 'black affronted' means embarrassed not pissed off as some posters seem to think.

user1480880826 · 05/10/2019 15:29

I can’t really see why you would be embarrassed by this. The fact you could have that conversation with your grandmother suggests that you’re quite open minded.

WingDefence · 05/10/2019 15:51

YABU for bumping your thread after one minute. Wink

Armadillostoes · 05/10/2019 15:54

YANBU OP and the post made me chuckle. There are some miserable gits on MN today.

MmmBlowholes · 05/10/2019 16:01

The 1 minute bump tells me you thought the story was classics material 😉

Noseynails · 05/10/2019 16:01

@Ginger1982 I have Scottish family who use the expression
