Eating an almond croissant (with the lovely gooey almondness inside) with BUTTER.

It's just not right.

There’s pretty much nothing that isn’t improved by butter, including an almond croissant.

Testify!

MargoLovebutter · 04/10/2019 13:05

I like a bit of croissant with my butter, don't care if it is almond, chocolate or plain.

chemenger · 04/10/2019 13:25

I also thought almond croissants were just sprinkled with almonds. I love almonds. Didn’t realise they were full of foul marzipan flavoured gunge. I hate marzipan. Why doesn’t marzipan taste of almonds?

Egg · 04/10/2019 13:52

ChicCroissant I like a bit of Kerrygold myself but as long as has salt I’m not too fussy! Also like Margolovebutter I tend to have more butter than whatever product i am eating it with.

Bellasblankexpression · 04/10/2019 14:23

This was not a sub-par croissant. This was a delicious, warm from the bakery, best kind of croissant.

Then no butter should ever sully it’s hallowed laminations.

Ohyesiam · 04/10/2019 23:26

Why doesn’t marzipan taste of almonds?
Huh?
Marzipan tastes Uber almondy.

Where do you buy these? I need one immediately

YANBU. Butter on an almond croissant is the work of the devil. DameDoom - try Cafe Nero for ultimate warm almond croissant delight!

Teacakeandalatte · 05/10/2019 08:31

Love an almond croissant and I wouldn't put butter on it, the goo is all that is needed to make it rich and, dare I say, moist.

LTB Grin

LightDrizzle · 05/10/2019 09:10

Another one who loves almonds but can’t stand marzipan. Conversely, I dislike peanuts but like peanut butter, satay and Reece’s peanut butter cups.

peachgreen · 05/10/2019 09:13

I've never understood putting butter on any croissant - they're basically 70% butter already! That said, I'm not a purist - I quite like mine with big dollops of posh raspberry jam Blush

SlightlyWizened · 05/10/2019 09:15

Butter on an almond croissant is just all kinds of wrong.
But almond croissant are themselves heavenly when one is in the mood.
Sadly our sainsburys has not had them is stock for weeks due to 'technical issues'

SlightlyWizened · 05/10/2019 09:15

A bacon croissant is also very, very good.

SlightlyWizened · 05/10/2019 09:16

Didn't Pret used to do a bacon and egg croissant. Homer style drool.

KUGA · 05/10/2019 09:19

Tasted one once, thought I had died andknow I know what hell tastes like.

Coffeeandchocolate9 · 05/10/2019 09:21

Ah, I remember the days pre-coeliacs that I could eat croissants. With butter and jam because why not, you're going for the unhealthy option anyway!

Ive never had an Almond croissant Sad if I did, I'd probably put butter on it.

NotANeuroticApple · 06/10/2019 15:01

Coffeeandchocolate9 I'm so sorry for your loss Flowers I actually wish I had never tried some things so I wouldn't miss them so much! bueno ferrerro rocher shit white toast bloody croissants SadEnvy

Frenchmom · 06/10/2019 17:39

This is wrong even for me, and I put jam and butter on a proper French all butter croissant!
